I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be at all surprised. The Hanalei River bridge was closed last week under much less rain.

KAUAIBOUND maybe busy.
South and East is generally dry because the weather usually comes from the north or west.
But not always.

The southwest corner of the island, where Barking Sands and the Pacific Missile Testing Range is located. Cactus can actually be found from Poipu (mid-southern side of Kauai) westwards.

We were in Maui a couple of weeks ago and it was great weather; tons of sun, some clouds. Friends the same week in Waikiki saw the sun one day. Maui is so beautiful!

3 Questions.
Does Dubai Ports World run the dam?
Was it Al Qaeda?
Was it Farakhans mystery barge?
Someone please connect the dots!!!!
Kidding--prayers for the missing (unless they are al Qaeda?)
To: SmithL
My favorite of the Hawaiian Islands. Prayers up for the missing.

Thanks to both. I have a friend with the US Navy there and he's always said he's on the dry side of the island and was wondering how close to the trouble he was.
Best of luck.

"Huh. I would have thought the bottom of the ocean, but......"
The mountain in the center of the island has the highest recorded rainfall of anyplace on earth.
Better?

You got it all wrong!! Karl Rove, on orders from Bush, sold the weather control machine to the UAE.Umm, Karl Rove gives the orders, and you know it. ;)

After all, most Americans don't know yet that Hawaii is one of these United States.Hah. I knew a Marine, on his first visit to Hawaii, asked, " Do they take American money here or will I have to exchange it?"

I saw that note on the map in post # 20 of this thread. Interesting. I was just being a smart ass.

Max Cleland could count the number of sunny days we've had in the past 2 months on his fingers.
I can and have put up with the rain but am totally fed up with the greedy, corrupt legislature. (Kauai Bound above nailed it.)
Tax revenues from last year show a $574 million surplus. Recycling (10/04 inception) revenues profited the state $30+ million in the first few months since there were no established redemption centers. Since then the state has pocketed another $40 million (I've also heard a high of $57 million.)
You can be sure that the Feds will foot the bill for fixing the Kaloko Dam.
You can be doubly sure that the state's revenue surplus will "disappear" by June 30th.

Sorry. I just got a chuckle thinking about it. I knew what you meant, and I see that someone posted a map that said the same thing you said.
Take care, and God bless.
