Are you assuming a CentCom chief -- Gen. John Abizaid -- is going to make such a controversial statement without clearance from his CiC?
If a reporter has his opinion about a non-military, non-policy bit of rhetoric...I assume the man has his own thoughts that he is able to express.
Has Peter Pace or any of the other Joint Chiefs expressed anger over his remarks??
