Of course that is stupid. THAT is a protectionist. But clearly you can oppose this deal, or supported a 45 day period, without being a protectionist. And the constant effort to confuse the issue was, well, demagoguery, uninformed, etc., etc.

I supported the 45-day review, and I supported the deal based on the merits of investing in this country's greatness. This deal had nothing to do with security, because DPW made it clear from the outset they weren't going to be doing security through press releases, the agreements of the deal itself, and through media appearances.

Anyone with an obvious clue as to who runs the ports of entry (be it border or sea ports), or has read the Founding Documents, would realize it's the functionary responsibility of the government to secure this country's safety.

Well, I've had Custom officials call my show who say otherwise, that it most certainly is not functionary. But how many more times do you want to go down this road? The people spoke through their representatives. It is OVER, DONE, BURNED TOAST ...
