PINKO TEACHERS, INC.
New York Post ^ | March 12, 2006 | SOL STERN

March 12, 2006 -- NO one familiar with our nation's increasingly dysfunctional public schools should have found it surprising that Colorado high-school teacher Jay Bennish delivered a 20-minute, anti-American rant straight out of Noam Chomsky and Michael Moore to his 10th grade geography class. Bennish was somewhat cruder than your average leftist teacher - but he is not unique. Smoother, more effective Bennishes are everywhere in our great American high schools. That's one reason why our graduates are so full of self-esteem and have all the right attitudes, but actually know less math, science and history than their counterparts in most of the world's industrialized nations.

I kind of liked the expression 'parlor pink'.

Of course, it arises out of a specific type of society and is no longer relevant in the US, but you get the idea.

They just don't make teachers like they used to. I'm 57 and I can remember the names of every teacher I had from first grade to high school. (Most of the knuckleheads I had in college were space cadets and not worth the brain space it would take to remember them. It was the 60s and they all were into "the ecology" and protesting the Vietnam War. They didn't want to be bothered with teaching students). NO ONE will ever remember this scrotum's name. Why? Because he IS NOT a teacher.

I'm 56 and have the same memories of the 50s and 60s education, exccept my Drake Univ (class of '71) profs were all into real teaching; no politics unless you signed-up for those specific poli-sci courses.

Can't believe how many days off, teacher days and all teachers get nowadays. They complain how they are underpaid for about 6 months of work a year. No incentive for good work and no punishment for very bad work.
More money, more money for terrible results.
tell the teachers unions to piss up a rope.

Exactly right. Unfortunately the damage is already done. If you look at a picture of this wack job you will see that he's a long haired pin headed reject from the sixties mentality crowed. We have got to find some way to get these little commissars out of our education system.

There was another article on this guy, that claimed he was
the off-spring of a 60's hippie union , and he is actually
replicating his sperm donors and egg recipients sentiments accurately.

But, Kozol warns teachers, be stealthy about all this; you can't let administrators or parents perceive you as so politically oriented that you neglect the basic skills. Jay Bennish seems to have ignored this last admonition and gotten himself into trouble. Nevertheless, in his defense, he could still say that Jonathan Kozol made him do it - and that many of his colleagues in America's high schools are doing the same thing every day and getting away with it.

Many elementary and high school teachers are constantly trying to indoctrinate their students to their points of view. Most are just more subtle than Bennish.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Give it up! The only solution is to get education out of the hands of the government!

Solution: Begin the process of privatizing universal K-12 education.

AMEN!

It is that goverment runs education that allows losers to teach. There are many, many fine teachers - just as there are many doltish commie teachers. Fine teachers wish government out of education. Doltish commies wish to empower government's monopoly and the union.

Now that you have identified the problem, what do you plan to do about it?

What do you do about it for your own kids?

What do you suggest we do about it for the larger society?

I liked "pinko" because it is the prefect term to catch the combination of "marxist-feminist". I mean "feminist" in its specifically marxist analysis--which was behind a lot of the 60's 70's and even contemporary leftist feminist types. "Pinko" gets it.
