Making a Race of it

Salena Zito, Tribune-Review

...A lifelong Democrat, Michelman says she's become "increasingly frustrated" with the party's "lackluster support of women's rights." She's also disappointed with the Senate Democrat leaders' anointing of Casey. "I think they are testing this out to see how well a conservative plays out."

Sacrificing principles and platforms for short-term political gain does not sit well with her.

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Constitution/Conservatism; Culture/Society; Editorial; Government; News/Current Events; Philosophy; US: Pennsylvania
KEYWORDS: casey; michelman; reid; rendell; santorum; schumer
Editor's Note: Kate Michelman came to a decision to not run for the Senate after this column was filed. In an op-ed piece that runs in today's Philadelphia Inquirer, Michelman cites her obligations to her mother, husband, and her children as factors in her decision.

I think the Democrats read her the riot act. Casey may be damaged goods but Michelman stands no chance against Santorum.

All those rights which have no pesky duties attached to them.

Any chance some far lefty, upset at Casey's supposedly "prolife" views will jump into the race as a third party candidate? That could help Santorum a lot. Just like that Green Party guy is running in Washington state, where he could tip the race to the Republican over Sen Cantwell.

Fast eddie sent a couple of head busters from the union to visit her and her family.

She now understands demonRAT party unity and why the RATs stick together like kaka to toilet paper. {It's the best descriptive of the RAT party}.
