That deal was between Britain and Dubai...Dubai volunteered to hold off on the deal.

Why would Bush have to "put a hold" on it..when Dubai did it on their own. I think I read that they would have to do this..because the US couldn't arbitrarily do it.

My recollection was that the President said the deal could continue to progress whilst the enquiry went on but it was DWP or the Dubai government that put it on hold.
