Maybe she only reads the NYTimes. Yesterday they ran an article headed "Republicans Hail a Colleague Who Fought Bush on Ports." In it they said "Any tension between the men appeared to have broken during a curious encounter Mr. King had at the White House, where he happened to be attending a bill-signing ceremony on Thursday...."
Now what bill do you think that was? Not the long delayed Patriot Act that Reid had declared "killed.> no bias here /sarcasm
President George W. Bush is joined by House and Senate representatives as he signs H.R. 3199, USA Patriot Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005, Thursday, March 9, 2006 in the East Room of the White House. From left to right are U.S. Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo.; U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan.; U.S. Rep. Peter King, R-NY; U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis.; U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa.; House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., and Majority Whip U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt, R- Mo
Its not exactly hell on earth here in Bushs America.
Good news these days is hard to find. But for no good reason. The mainstream media highlight and overhype America's failures and challenges.
Americans today are better off than at any time in history and are overwhelmingly optimistic about the future. ................
As our lives have gotten longer, they have also gotten richer. America's economy continues to create jobs and wealth at an unprecedented pace. Over the past 40 years, per capita income in the United States has doubled. On top of that, Americans are enjoying more leisure time.
In contrast to the doom-and-gloom presented by the media, Americans are generally happy and optimistic. A 2004 Gallup poll found that more than half of Americans describe themselves as "very happy" and another 42 percent say they are "fairly happy." Just 6 percent describe themselves as "not too happy."
