Ya know.. I was SHOCKED to find out that LYNCHING blacks in the south was legal until the late 1960's.....

I trust you're being sarcastic, but in case you're not, this isn't true. 

Lynching was illegal in the South since before the Civil War.  Anybody who tries to point to some bizarre law and say that it "legalized lynching" is lying to you.  

Did you know that it is still illegal to drive a "motorized vehicle" in Boston without stopping every 3/4 mile and setting off 2 green rockets and 1 red to warn others on the road?

My grandfather (and namesake) was sheriff of Neshoba County, Mississippi, back during the depression.  He "had no truck with the Klan."  He served only one term.  But from that history I've drawn a lot of lessons about "what is" versus "what is taught."

DANG! I know I was watching some show one day that said that lynching was not made illegal until 196....something...LOL! I was obviously paying close attention!

maybe they said 1860?

LOL!!! can I buy a numerical digit or two instead of vowels?
