I knew more time would expose some things. Sandy Berger aligned with the Communist Chinese should not come as a surprise, but it did. (I have to be more cynical in the future.)
If the ports in India are not on top of the strats of Hormuz you are comaring apples with oranges.
I do not think Pence knew what he was talking about when he supposedly explained this fight between the Congress and the White House. either he is talking through his hat or they are running for cover. The White House cannot trust Congress to keep a Secret, mostly Dems but a lot of Republicans also cannot keep their stupid mouths shut and they leak to the Media because it makes them feel that they have more Power knowing something juicy and telling someone else how important they are because they have this info. Several of the former White House employees in Coveted positions left and spilled their guts, mostly because they did not get a bigger and better appointment, or because they screwed up and were not kept on. Pence is making excuses for the other Republicans that out and out betrayed the President and George Bush will never trust them again. Mark Foley is my Congressman and his Aide hung up on me after I chastised him for trashing the President and running off at the mouth with his Ego on a local radio program. The crap coming out of his mouth was beyond belief. If I was watching him in person I would have probably seen him beating his chest and declaring that he was bigger and more important than the President, that is how he come across the Airwaves. This is all about their ego's and they all think that they are more important, smarter, better than the President.
I agree with you on Kristol, but am certain Buchanan does not represent all true conservatives. See, we don't agree 100%, but more than 50%. I'd say that's a realistic average.
But for some FReepers, it must be total agreement or you're my enemy. So, I'm glad that we can talk even when we are not eye to eye on everything.
Pat Buchanan is just too narrow for my tastes. A lot is changing in the world and the U.S. can help to shape it; that is the good, even brilliant, aspect of what this administration is doing. Too many were blindsided on the ports issue, which made it an awkward and messy spectacle. It's basically over now and we need to focus on our most deadly enemies, not our most annoying ones.
Disturbing? Agreed.
Brit? Agreed, but like you I usually do.
Juan's replay? Yeah, it was funny. Did you see it last week? Many thought he was serious when he said it and I was thinking at the time that he was being sarcastic.
I think he ended up being more serious than he intended to be...?
Good thumbnail sketches. Would'nt it be fun to have a pool, one that stayed friendly, on the relative chances of each candidate during the next two and a half years. Maybe a monthly "tracking" poll in the sidebar would show us the trend.
Meow! Hiss! Hiss!
LOL.
Second time: Where is Hannity from?
Exactly my thoughts.
LOL!
LOL! I voted for Carter against Ford. By the time I had suffered through four years of Carter, I couldn't wait to vote for Reagan! Carter made me a conservative Republican. Ha!
I'll wait for the details. Frist has a way of agreeing with something that is not always agreeing.
Frankly, I'd like to see CFIUS do its job with heightened security in mind instead of the Clinton mindset of business as usual.
Very well said John and completely accurate.
bookmarking... gotta run and my son... be back soon...
I did read the rest...and the one thing that stood out the most was the Bob Schieffer of "Face the Nation" said that Obama was the star of the "Gridiron Dinner" last night, because he "made fun of Cheney's drinking"...
WOW...so that is what makes one a star in politics...to make fun of the VP's drinking habits...that were an unfounded claim by Ron Reagan and Lawrence O'Donnell???
You do not have the right, nor do I to tell a woman that has been raped that she must carry that Child. I have worked for Pro life causes for 35 years at least and will continue to. I would never tell you to not keep it, that is your decision. I think that we do not want this Thread to be an Abortion thread, that is not what it is for. I pointed out that when we are winning on the issue, please do not throw a Monkey Wrench into it.
