Howie on. This should be interesting.
You are early, this morning.
FNS looks worthy of a look, would love to see Sen. Allen give Senator Plugs the Sunday SmackDown.
Allen and Plugs are on MTP. (Russert dressed up as a blonde female reporterette at the Gridiron club last night!)
Yep.
(Russert dressed up as a blonde female reporterette at the Gridiron club last night!)
Probably a good thing I missed that. :)
Wallace said - Bush is now "lame duck". Russert & Mathews said - Republicans "distance themselves" from the President to avoid defeat. Well, Proof is in the pudding.
U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar(D) won his last election with 58 vote lead. He is a moderate, pro-growth, anti-tax, Bush loving democrat. Bush personally embraced him at SOTU event.
Then came the dem.primary - Club for Growth endorsed (1st time) this dem. Kos-hacks, Deaniacs, Unions, abortionists, move-on and the entire liberal dems. endorsed and funneled their money and energy into his opponent (lost last time) Ciro Rodriguez. Their main election agenda? Henry Cuellar is in Bush's pocket.
In the end, Club for Growth endorsed & Bush supporting dem. Henry Cuellar(D) won handily with increased margin, by 12 percentage points. That was a REAL POLL and Bush won his 1st 2006 election house seat through a democrat without even showing up for campaign.
Then, media was hoping for a run-off if not defeat for Tom Delay. Delay ended up winning with more than double the total of all his opponents combined. All these in the peak of media assault on the President over the port deal.
There is background info on the shows and pre-show predictions on the
Weekend Show *Preview* for 3/11 - 3/12 (not the live thread)
The consensus seems to be that the main meme this week is that Bush is already a lame duck and it's time to ignore him and look at who's next.
Also, Iraq is too a civil war, despite what anybody says, and Iran is a hopeless mess.
Thanks to everyone who participated. I'm particularly interested in Peach's activism thread proposal. That will be one to watch.
Hey Gip, See Mike Pence is on FNC today?
I missed it Carolinamom. Is there a transcript somewhere?
Are they "formers"?
Who was it who said, "The news of my death is premature.?" Seems to fit where President Bush's presidency is concerned imo.

Thanks AB. I will be doing the top 10 today. Looks like FNC is getting as corrupt as the rest of the Junk Media. Seems they only are going to Republicans they can count on to trash the Republicans. Pence has a point about the Republicans on Fiscal issue, Hunter is just a media whore.
Better not try to hold down a breakfast.
I think I'll spare myself some anger and just read the comments here. I'd like to slap too many of the guests...lol.
Does anyone know whether C-Span filmed it?
One funny quoted line that I lifted from one article: Bush to Cheney, "Did you know that my poll numbers are down to 38%? Cheney to Bush, "What's your secret?" LOL
The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
after his obit ran in a major paper.
I saw John Edward speaking with Jack Kemp the other day. To be honest, Edwards is a pretty smart guy, and my, my, he looks like he's even younger than he did when he ran with Effin. He must be eating right.
To quote the lady customer in the deli in "When Harry Met Sally" after Meg Ryan's great orgasm scene, "I'll have what she's having".
;-)
