I certainly hope this does not spread to the USA.
It would only be a matter of time until conservative sites are considered 'hate speech'.
Remember, as disgusting as some of the stuff on the web is, when they start censoring sites, who decides what is hate speech or not?

I think this is one of the reasons
FreeDominion.ca is hosted on a website in the US. There really isn't free speach in Canada.

the Canadian Human Rights CommissionThere's a misnomer if there ever was one. I guess freedom of speech is not a human right but freedom from ever being offended is.

Who says what is 'hate'? Can we ban the NYT and the 'Bush haters'?
Better to have a right to free discourse than someone arbitrarily deciding what is OK.

Isn't that the country that liberals always want to flock to?

The ruling shows that Canadians have no tolerance for hate Monette Mailett. Human Rights Commissioner.
Hatred is alive and well in Canada. In any case, hate is almost as likely an emotion as love. This given certain conditions.
The Peter Libra designation of "allowed hatred" follows.
1. The avowed French-Canadian separatist hatred for the "Anglos".
2. The stated hatreds on some Southern Ontario campus, for the State of Israel. (see Daniel Pipes).
3. The unbridled hatred of constituted law enforcement by certain "minorities". (see Toronto Star, include the Dudley George enquiry).
4.The utter contempt and hatred for George W. Bush.(hello sweet Caroline)
I could go on. Still, give sweet Monette credit. Sounds like her forbears did the can-can in gay Paree. She picked on the obvious target. Safe as houses, eh Monette?

"Hate" is used as a means of controlling speech. Defining something as "hate" is an excuse to take away freedom. "Hate Crimes" laws are Soviet laws and totally un-American. "Human Rights Commissions" in Canada are one reason we sometimes have to call that country the "Peoples Republic of Canada."

For the first time in Canada, an Internet service provider has been found guilty and fined for hosting websites that spread hate messages against blacks, Jews and Muslims.I guess web sites that spread hate against white Christians are still OK with the Canadian authorities.

A Human Rights ruling says Internet servers are as liable as their clients for hate material. I guess if a stationary store sells paper to someone that then writes 'hate' mail with it, they are in big trouble.
