An American member of the Christian Peacemaker Team, Tom Fox, was found murdered in Iraq today. He was kidnapped by the Islamist-oriented group known as the Swords of Righteousness Brigades on November 26. Iraqi police reported that Fox had "gunshots to his head and chest and signs of torture on his body." This incident begs the question: Do the Islamist terrorists respect all the appeasement offered them by leftist peace activists like Tom Fox? The answer is a categorical "no," "non," "nein," "nyet," "nr."
After all that has happened, the Left still ignores the threat of Islamism, appeasing militant Muslims just as Chamberlain and Lindberg placated Hitler. The appeasers are sticking their heads in the sand not because of noble sentiments. In reality, they are afraid, very afraid, of being blown up, and their fear overwhelms all sense of rationality.
Tom Fox went to Iraq to grovel before Iraq's ultra-violent Islamist "insurgents," seeking to convince them to give up a "cause" that they have no intention of ever abandoning. Fox could have done a cursory review of the current state of Islamism using a Google search before going to Iraq, but he went anyway. One may argue that he was brave -- not afraid -- but he was, in truth, utterly misguided and foolish.
Islamists massacred 344 civilians half of them children in Beslan, North Ossetia. They killed 62 in Delhi, India; murdered 50+ in Turkey; and have killed tens of thousands in Indonesia, Algeria, and Nigeria. Al-Qaeda slaughtered 88 innocent Egyptians last July 23.
1,095 innocent Israelis have been killed by Palestinian terrorists since September 2000. Thirty-thousand Iraqis, mostly Muslim, have been slaughtered by Islamist terrorists since the country's liberation.
9/11 (3000 dead). Madrid (200 dead). London (50 dead). Bali (200 dead). Amman (57 dead). Three-hundred trampled to death in this years Hajj; 1,426 killed in the 1990 Hajj; 251 in 2004; etc. Sudanese Muslims have slaughtered 180,000 black Africans. Kuwaitis ethnically cleansed 400,000 Palestinians in 1991.
The bipartisan 9/11 Commission Report determined:
But the enemy is not just "terrorism," some generic evil. This vagueness blurs the strategy. The catastrophic threat at this moment in history is more specific. It is the threat posed by Islamist terrorism--especially the al Qaeda network, its affiliates, and its ideology.
Before Fox was tortured and murdered by the people he fantasized as friends, he betrayed his white-guilt-inspired feelings:
It has become increasing evident to me that after stripping away all the rationales for the US invasion of Iraq, what is left is the reality that the current U.S. Administration felt compelled to invade from a basis of hate.
So Fox went to Iraq to fight supposed American hate and ended up getting killed by the people he saw as victims, not having hate, yet driven first and foremost by hatred. What an awful irony. And what foolish appeasement.

Once upon a time there was a man who was concerned that the wildebeests, in their greedy desire to get to greener pastures, would harm the innocent crocodiles in the river with their sharp hooves. He went and stood on the bank with his arms outstretched to impede their progress. The crocodiles, in gratitude, ate him.

Welcome to the world, Tom Fox. Your exit didn't need to happen, but for your silly ideals.

I really think the left does not understand the enemy. They are so blinded by hatred of George Bush and US, they think they are back in the 60s or 70s.
They think their hatred of the US will be rewarded by the enemy, as if the enemy was the North Vietnamese and they were Jane Fonda.
This enemy has even less regard for you if you are an appeaser. You are just an infidel, filth to be killed.

...is the reality that the current U.S. Administration felt compelled to invade from a basis of hate. This may be the distorted "reality" Fox held to, but we have to wonder what he thought was the basis of his captors "reality" as they were about to kill him.
It seems as if Fox was a fool, and got what he deserved.

I was disappointed at the comments of Jill Carroll's parents. The appeasement and self-hatred won't work with her captors. The best chance she has is that someone will give a tip and the US or Iraqi forces will rescue her.
Interesting comment on CNN today: not one American hostage has been released in Iraq. They have either been killed or rescued.
Carroll is the first female American hostage, so her chances of being released may be higher, but they did kill one female hostage, the Brit, Margaret Hasan. I remember a contractor who was kidnapped and was really tough. He eventually was rescued, forgot his name.

He missed it by a nano-thought, The basis of hate is at the core of islam, we are trying to remove it.

If he was like most lefties and peaceniks, his mantra was probably diversity and tolerance. Well, my motto is: "Diversity is great (until it happens to YOU)..."

Clueless lefties who insist on cuddling crocodiles, brown bears, or jihadists will come to a very bad end. Smart conservatives will survive, though;)))

Foolish liberals pay the price with their own lives by appeasing evil doers. The murder of Tom Fox is an example of what happens when you overlook the fact Islamofascists want us all dead. DUH
