In that part of the country, rock salt is not usually an option. If the cats are coming into back yards they are either shot "in self defense" or animal control is called to relocate them.
Usually, if one gets the taste of easy prey (human) and knows where to find it, the cat has to be killed.
Well thank you for teaching this old dog a new trick :-) guess I should of realized it was different then how we delt with black bears. Black Bears are mainly just a pain. Big Cats, I should of know, are killers.
