Palestinians throughout the West Bank expressed sorrow Saturday over the killing of American Tom Fox, 54, who had traveled to the West Bank to protest for their cause before he was taken hostage in Iraq.
Fox's body was found shot in the head and chest Thursday near a Baghdad railway station. He had worked with Christian Peacemaker Teams in the Palestinian areas before he began work with the group in Iraq.
Fox, from Clear Brook, Virginia, had demonstrated in the West Bank town of Jayyus against the construction of the security fence and he helped Palestinians pick olives, local Palestinians said.
"Tom used to sit in front of the (Israeli) bulldozers to block them," said Jayyus' mayor, Shawka Shamha. "Hearing news that he was killed makes me very sad."
Sharif Omar also from Jayyus said that Fox lived at his brother's house for three months while local Palestinians and foreign activists protested against the construction of the barrier.
"I'm very sorry to hear that he has been killed," Omar said.
Palestinians in the West Bank city of Hebron also remembered Fox. Neither Fox nor the Briton and two Canadians taken hostage with him deserved to die, said Hisham Sharabati, a human rights activist who met Fox.
"I'm calling for the kidnappers to release the other hostages," Sharabati said. "This killing harmed the Palestinian and Iraqi causes because the hostages were working for peace."
The two Canadians - James Loney and Harmeet Singh Sooden - also worked in the Palestinian areas.
When the four were taken hostage in November last year, the Palestinians' top Muslim clergyman, Mufti Ikrema Sabri, called for their immediate release.
He flies 12,000 miles to pick olives??!!
To lame to fight for their beliefs, they are neither fish nor foul.
And the world doesn't even notice them as speed bumps!
He is no Christian.
I'll regret any American death to these evil people, but I have to ask if this guy was related to "Grizzly Man"
Have you heard about this movie? This guy loved Grizzly bears so much that he lived near them and chronicled his life living with the bears.
Unfortunately, one day the bears killed and ate him.
Connection?

Lay down with dogs, get up with a bullet in your head.
Tom Fox-usefull idiot. This should send a clear, unmistakeable message to all so called "peace activists"in the ME;the terrorists don't care if you support them and their cause. In the end,Tom Fox was simply a piece of meat that was kidnapped and then executed simply for propaganda purposes.Oh well:(
Holy crap. That is FLAT OUT the best thread I've seen in a long time!
B(ulldozer) = f(lat)R(achel)
Good, I'm glad he is dead. I wished death upon him in the same way I wish death upon Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan, Iraq and everywhere else we must fight them. I also hope the rest of his fellow "peace activists" are shot and dumped just like he was.
These "peace activists" are nothing but propaganda tools for the enemy. Infact, these Western traitors are individually more dangerous than a single terrorist. They aid and support hostile organizations and populations, work to undermine support for the war effort at home, and actually disrupt the ability of our military to operate wherever they are. So I consider this a win for the good guys. I cheer Fox's death as I did Rachel Corrie's.
I only wish it was our nations policy to specifically target them for death in the same way we would any other terrorists hiding in a cave.
"Good, I'm glad he is dead."
I am not in the least bit glad he is dead. However, I do think that his death is a direct consequence of actions on his part that were not only foolish but also quite possibly treasonous (I have posted an excerpt from his blog above and I think that extract speaks for itself).
Were you glad when Saddam's retchid sons were killed? Are you glad when US forces manage to wipe out another pack of jihadi's in Afghanistan or Iraq? Be honest about it.
How is Fox's death any different? This man chose sides. He aligned himself with enemies of our nation in wartime. He chose to work against the US and the Western world. Fox is in many ways actually more deserving of death than some nutty jihadi who was surrounded by nothing but Islamic radicalism his entire life.
This man was a traitor and died like any traitor should. This man was an enemy of the United States, and I am glad whenever America's enemies are vanquished.
So yup, I'm glad he is dead. I even find it a bit hilarious that he died at the hands of those he aligned himself with. I will sleep just a little bit better knowing this guy is now worm food. Should I ever happen upon his grave, I will spit on it.
You wont see me shed a tear for this scumbag. He got what was coming to him.
"So yup, I'm glad he is dead."
Perhaps my generosity of spirit, my milk of human kindness, has something to do with the fact that I am not religious.
Update,According to Fox News, Fox also had numerous lacerations about his body ie he was tortured before death.I can just imagine this man desperately trying to explain he and the kidnappers are(were)allies.Despite the brutality,i doubt this will disuade other "peace activist's" from their cause. Some folks just don't get it.
His Last Words:
"But! But! I voted for KERRY!!! He's on YOUR side!!"
*Slice*
Liberal naivete never ceases to amaze me...
I'm sure their sorrow is just crocodile tears. After all he was only an American.
