It is a religious problem we are faced with. - tom

It's a religious FERVOR we are faced with...but it has been stoked and misdirected by those with GEOPOLITICAL ends.

There is nothing misdirected about converting killing or subjugating non- believers in Islam. The religion hasn't changed fror day one in that regard. - tom

The Quran, as a document, together with the history of Islams's religious and political leaders, and the history of its most faithful advocates, are, collectively, self-indicting evidence that Islam is in fact a political-religion from which neither government, political ideology or religion can be separated without being unfaithful to Islam. This is not polemics, demogougery or mere rhetoric. Its the text and the facts and the history of Islam, past, present and future.

My compliments, Kuli, for the Free Republic "post of the day" - or week or month, for that matter.

You've answered the question, "should the Quran be banned in The West" as clearly, concisely, and plainly as it could possibly be answered.

Until the leaders of The West are willing to stand in front of their constituencies and say the same, the War with Islam may not be winnable, and those who lead us are neglecting their duties and responsibilities.

Once freedom of the press is curtailed democracy is in real danger...

Vy true. But the rioting muslims have already forced the U.S. and U.K. into submission regarding the mohammed cartoons...looks like freedom of the press has been curtailed.

This is ridiculous. And remember there was also a movement recently in Germany to ban the Bible. Obviously those of you who support this foolishness don't believe in freedom of speech or religion.

I wonder what books the enlightened muslims would ban if they came into power.

You are welcome to your opinion...however ridiculous it appears to some.

The issue here isn't actually outlawing the koran, but dragging it into a court of law so it can be exposed. How does that square with the efforts of rioting muslims to kill freedom of speech as it pertains to the mohammed cartoons?

According to the indictment, the Quran is not just a religious and historic book, but also a political book, which is incompatible with the constiution.

Finally, someone gets it. Islam wants to rule the world, imposing its laws over other citizens. What part of that has anything to do with religion?

We will eventually outlaw Islam for the same reason we virtually outlawed Communism: they are aiming to overthrow the state. Unfortunately, millions will die before we wake up.

"Obviously those of you who support this foolishness don't believe in freedom of speech or religion."

Islam is an oppressor of free speech and intolerate of other religions. To not oppose Islam is political and religious suicide. Islam is not compatible with democracy. Islam is not compatible with any sort of political or religious exercise beyond what only islam allows.

I oppose islam because I believe in freedom of speech and freedom of religion and islam does not. There's enough evidence to prove my point that would fill to capacity the smithsonian.

Why do you tolerate a religion that would not tolerate yours unless you are one?

The indictment is against the 200 verses of 114 suras (ED:chapters) of the Quran that are not compatible with the constitution, including demagoguery, incitement to murder, murder and mutilation, war, acceptance of thievery against infidels, meaning all non-Moslems. Verses are also pointed out where the equal rights of men and women are not upheld and where people of different faiths are oppressed.
“The unbelievers among the People of the Book (Jews and Christians): They are the vilest of all creatures.” (Sura 98:6)

According to the indictment that paragraph violates Article 4 of the Constitution and Paragraph 166 of the Penal Code.

IMHO, this banning of Q'uran will not hold up in court. It certainly wouldn't in our country. However, it does show the West exactly what we are up against.

It also shows what Dr. Sultan ran into when her al-jazeera interview was broadcast.

And can you imagine the uproar when the "noble koran" is dragged into court like a common criminal...

Yee Haw!!!

the same reason we virtually outlawed Communism

The party wasn't outlawed, merely forced to take over the demonRAT party to use as their cover.

Kewl! If they can ban the Nazi's and promoting their ideology in Germany, the koran and islam surely fits into the same category.

Islam, is arabian fascism, a political system masquerading as a religion, and the koran its manifesto for war and territorial expansion... conquest by the sword.
