A translation of this Jyllands Posten article, "The Quran reported to the Police" is here, with thanks to all who sent this in.
A broad alliance of grass-roots movements have gone to the prosecutors of several states to hinder the dissemination of the Quran. According to the indictment, the Quran is not just a religious and historic book, but also a political book, which is incompatible with the constiution.
At the prosecutors office at Gorch-Forck-Wall 15 in Hamburg, an unusual letter was received Monday morning, containing an indictment filed this weekend. The indictment targeted the Quran, charging that the holy book of the Moslems, according to the accuser, is incompatible with the German constitution.
The accuser is Bundesverband der Bürgerbewegungen (BVB), which concerns itself with, in its own words, defending basic rights and freedoms against Islam. The extensive international furore, allegedly caused by the Muhammed cartoons, has made clear the relevancy of the alliance. Its homepage is decorated with a Danish flag with the words Support Denmark! Defend the Free World. superimposed on it.
The indictment has been filed in several states, including Hamburg, Niedersachsen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Bayern and probably more.
In several talkshows on German TV, conservative politicians have pointed out that the Quran is incompatible with the German constitution. The Turkish-born writer Serap Cileli said on January 29 this year that the Quran must be considered a historic document. It is not compatible with our constitution and Human Rights.
Now the alliance wants the matter tried at the courts.
Potent Political Book
The author of the indictment in Hamburg, Jutta Starke, says that the Quran was reported to the police two or three years ago, but that the report was dismissed on the grounds that it was a book of only historical interest.
The events of the last months have made clear that the Quran isnt just a historical book, but very much a potent political book, a thing which we document extensively in the indictment, Jutta Starke says.
She says it is a task of sisyphean dimensions to inform the media, politicians and churches of the true intentions of Islam in the enlightened world of the West.
We are grateful to Jyllands-Posten that discussions about Islam have now become possible, says Jutta Starke....
ahhh - and yelling fire in a crowded theater should be okay also?
There is no freedom where there are no rules - or too many rules. It's a delicate balance - but a balance there must be. Without limitations there is only chaos.
There has to be a line in the sand...........or turn the sand into glass

Darkness has NO power source...it can only operate in the absence of LIGHT.
LIGHT has many sources - the sun, electricity, even a candle or a match - and dare I day: GOD. - They can all drive the shadows back into the corners of society - like the guilty things they are...and they have no power to move on their own.
Such has life on earth always been - a struggle between the LIGHT and the dark.
But we must turn on the LIGHT - rather than cowering under our beds lest we "offend" someone by DEfending our own beliefs, our own way of life - even our very lives.
It is really that simply complicated.
We should've printed and reprinted and plastered the Danish cartoons around the globe - they were not "offensive" - and were printed 6 months before the rage and riots. They were merely an excuse for the barbarians to test our resolve - "our" as in the non-muslim world. We failed - we capitulated - we appeased - we tucked our tails under and apologized. And the next week, the mosque was bombed. We gave them power. (I made a large Danish Flag and nailed in my front yard. We had better learn to stand together...for we have a common, and deadly enemy.)
We have been slowly conditioned in the name of "political correctness" - which may be one of the most powerful and deadly weapons of all time.
Get your flashlights out......'Let there be LIGHT,
("We stand together, or we fall apart." M.T.)
and the silence is very loud.
The muslims have been quietly, systematically, moving by the ten of thousands into all other countries...and not to assimilate.
They are controlled in every aspect of their lives by their imams = even instructed on how to go to the bathroom - no joke.
The Russians used to install 'sleepers' one here, one there. The muslims have installed tens of thousands. They are little more than robotrons, waiting for instructions - which they will obey either through agreement or fear.
These terrorists have shown that they have patience and plan and plot for years to carry out a plan.
Fasten your seat belts. We're in for a bumpy ride.
(an aside before someone feels the need to point out to me the muslims should be with a capitol m. They get a small m from me on purpose. :o)

it's been along day - I'm tired - so maybe I'm missing something here?
Are you equating the Jewish and Christian fundamentalists on the same plane as the muslim fundamentalists?
If the muslim fundamentalists kept their violence within "their fellow-religionists" - that would be a different story. Conversely, I don't see a whole lot of Jews or Christians slaughtering and vowing to annihilate everyone who does not follow their religion
I rather suspicion for some it may be the fear of what would happen to them if they were caught standing when the loud speakers went off - I further surmise that the 5 times a day of making like a stinkbug is a mind-control trigger -
read your histories, folks
ROFL!
bump!
Ayuh, well I know what happens in one place ... Riyadh ... the Religious Police... liable to give'em a whippin' with bamboo canes and drive'em to the mosque like cattle. Infidels off the streets, shops shuttered. Although lately, they ain't been stoppin' traffic. One interesting 250 mega-dB muezzin call I heard:
"Come to prayer so that Allah the All-Merciful can give you the strength to slaughter the infidels in our midst at the appropriate hour." Wish I were kidding!
Travel is so broadening!

"Ayuh" - I'm up the road a piece :o)
