My pint is that it appears, by what little info we have been privy to, that UAE offered up lots of valued intel. To toy with that over some leases of ports that threaten us very little in the scope of things, is ridiculous.
The bottom line is that we will probably lose what intel they were providing and that endangers the troops.
That is my main beef although there are certainly other aspects of the deal that are extremely bizarre..

The UAE probably no longer have much intel if they are perceived as dealing with the US. And I agree, there are many, many aspects of this deal (including the involvement of Bill Clinton and Madelyn Albright) that are extremely bizarre. I'm not saying it shouldn't have gone through, but I think it needed a lot more examination.
