U.S. Capitol Evacuated After Losing Power
WASHINGTON - Police ordered an evacuation of the U.S. Capitol shortly after noon Monday after the building lost power. Sirens signaling the evacuation sounded and lawmakers and visitors were told to leave.
It was not immediately clear what the cause of the outage was. A Senate leadership aide said the power system for the Capitol had recently been experiencing what he called low-level difficulties.

Hi JP and all. Please forgive me for posting and running, but I am again preparing to shop my laptop to Dell for the second time in 2 weeks! Unfortunately, Dell is a pale shadow of the company it once proudly was. It has declined rapidly before my eyes in the last year. I just want everyone to know that I have not been able to stop by here easily until now and it looks like I won't be back until Dell does what it is supposed to do! I have a desktop also but it is not what I favor so I have been spending time offline alot lately.
The reason why I am posting now is that someone e-mailed me this and it should also be posted on Drudge:

Sirens signaling the evacuation went off and lawmakers and visitors were told to leave.
It was not immediately clear what the cause of the outage was. Before the sirens went off, visitors calmly walked toward the exits and it appeared that emergency generators were activated because some lights flickered back on.
Security officers and other building personnel walked the halls with flashlights.
