Defection fears over missing pair (Australia)
TWO Commonwealth Games athletes have gone missing in what could be a defection controversy for the Melbourne 2006 Games.
Police are searching for 48-kilogram Tanzanian boxer Omari Idd Kimweri and Bangladeshi 400 metres runner Mohammad Tawhidul Islam after both failed to sleep at the Parkville athletes village on Monday night.(snip)
