Jakarta - The US government issued a new security alert for Indonesia on Saturday after Australia warned its citizens in the country of a possible threat of a terrorist attack on Sunday.

The US Embassy alert for its citizens said Westerners and Western interests in Indonesia remain under threat by terrorists.

'Recent reports suggest that Sunday April 2, 2006 could be one potential date for an attack; however, terrorist attacks can occur at any time, anywhere in Indonesia,' the message said.

It warned especially of possible attacks on places where Americans and other Westerners live, congregate, shop or visit.

The US and other Western countries, including Australia and Britain, have issued frequent warnings about possible attacks in Indonesia.

Islamic militants and alleged members of the al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) regional terrorist group have been blamed for a string of deadly bombings in Indonesia.

Indonesia is the world's most-populous Moslem majority country.

"Police Arrest Suspects in Chevy Chase Home Invasion"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CHEVY CHASE, Md. - Montgomery County police say they have arrested two people in connection with Monday night's home invasion in Chevy Chase.

They include a man videotaped retrieving cash with an ATM card that was stolen during the intrusion on the 3700 block of Underwood Street.

Police say 19-year-old Harold Gene Short of Suitland is charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and use of a handgun in a violent felony.Police say she is not believed to have been present during the home invasion robbery.

Detectives continue to search for two to three additional suspects responsible for this home invasion robbery."
