Threat Matrix: Daily Terror Threat - Thread Thirty-Five

:::FreeRepublic's Threat Matrix:::
Unrest in Pakistan Setback for Terror War
(Full Story)

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- A week of unprecedented urban fighting in the wild tribal belt of North Waziristan has left scores dead and forced thousands to flee their homes, raising the stakes in Pakistan's war on Islamic militancy along the Afghan border.

A jumbled alliance of foreign militants, local tribesmen and Islamic students eager for jihad have stepped up resistance in a region where the army already claims to have wiped out al-Qaida as a viable fighting force.

The unrest, brewing for months, is a setback to the U.S.-led war on terror. Further hampering that effort are deteriorating relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan over Afghan claims that Taliban leader Mullah Omar is hiding in Pakistan and suicide bombers are training here.

***Have you seen My NOT kinda town on FNC today?!***

I was hoping Immigration and "Homeland Security" would be there taping the protesters. Politicians are noticeably silent about the protests - none wanting to risk losing the Hispanic vote.

Yep JP, things are completely out of hand. Wondering if there is a time frame for the US, Mexico and Canada to merge? The lack of attention to our borders seems to be a superficial issue for most politicians, except some on the border states. Since the US gave billions to Pakistan for their security, it makes no sense whatsoever we'd be ignoring (or putting small bandaids on) our own.

This makes me want to pull out what little hair I'm still able to grow. On the upside, at least I'm one of the few that REALLY know what's happening. Being an ant is sometimes burdensome, but it beats the alternative.

Thanks for the info folks!

Eclipse is sign of the end times - Islamic scholar (Total Solar Eclipse on March 29th)

Cape Coast, March 24, GNA - Mallam Muniru Hamidu, an Islamic scholar and head of the Hifzil Islamiyya Arabic school in Cape Coast, on Friday said next Wednesday's eclipse, would be one "of the signs that the world was coming to an end", and that everyone must be committed to the service of God and refrain from committing sin.

According to him, it is stated in the Koran that when the end of the world was near, God would cause the sun and the moon to come together. Mallam Hamidu, who was speaking to the GNA in Cape Coast on the impending phenomenon, said it signifies and serves as a reminder to people to stop offending God and serve Him well..

You are kindly welcome...I just stumbled upon the info. by accident...otherwise I wouldn't have known either. But I like to keep-up with those silly moonbats and their moon worshiping cult days of interest...just in case they choose to celebrate in a way that would be detrimental to the rest of us.

Sydney female Muslim convert linked to bomb plot, murderer

A woman charged at the weekend with plotting to bomb Sydney was a convert to Islam who planned the attack at the behest of a jailed murderer angered over anti-Muslim race riots here late last year. Jill Courtney, 26, was arrested at her suburban Sydney home on Friday in a swoop by Federal and local police operating under anti-terrorism laws.

"Saddam planned to deploy 'camels of mass destruction'"

By James Langton
(Filed: 26/03/2006)

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The papers have been translated by Arabic-speaking members of Free Republic, a conservative internet discussion forum that believes the documents will justify British and American claims that Saddam had made Iraq a haven for terrorists.

If the translation is correct, it suggests that many of the foreign fighters now attacking coalition forces and bombing Iraqi civilians were directly trained by the Saddam regime, although there are no known reports of camels being used in suicide attacks."

Police Slice Open Six Camels in Drug Haul
Reuters ^ | Tue, Nov 30, 2004

Posted on 11/30/2004 7:55:29 AM PST by presidio9

Iranian police seized 18 kilograms of opium after cutting open the stomachs of six camels, which are being increasingly used to carry narcotics from Afghanistan, media reported Tuesday.

Iran is one of the world's key narcotics thoroughfares, carrying opiates from Afghanistan to Europe. It boasts 25 percent of opium seizures worldwide.

The official IRNA news agency said police in the central city of Nain slaughtered the camels which they found in the back of a truck pulled over at a checkpoint.

The bellies of four animals yielded drugs and the truck driver was arrested.

Networks of forts and ramparts across Iran's eastern borders have forced drug dealers back to more traditional methods, carrying narcotics through narrow mountain passes in rucksacks and camels' saddle-bags.

Thank you for the "first person" account of sharing ones stocked goods with "others." It's definitely something to be comtemplated.

Bought clothesline for the eventuality there would be no electricity in a disaster. Today I searched for clothespins (they were difficult to locate). Little by little we become prepared.

Re #1792

When I was down in Florida last month, the campground I was staying at had a raccoon problem. Didn't know it until I got there. Clyde was vigilant and kept them away from my camp site, but they would regularly raid other sites. They were not afraid of people, even in the daylight. It was the KOA Sugarloaf campground @ mile marker 20 on US 1.

Even up my way, rabid animals are becoming predominant. If you see a nocturnal animal in the daylight, STAY AWAY.

That's how we ALL get it done MD. I continue to rethink my plans. Soon I will have 'stashes' at 2 different sites. I will be searching for more.

As Granny has stated before, the best option is to stay put, but I prefer to be ready to move it I have to. Once on the road you are MUCH more vulnerable.

Prepositioning supplies in multiple locations gives me options. I like options.
