Posted on 03/09/2006 7:58:40 AM PST by Vintage1

// NASA is planning to make a huge announcement today, about possible life in our own solar system. Exact details of what we can expect to hear have not been released. We do know that evidence has been found that could point to life relatively close to the earth.... No other information at this time

I bet the beaches weren't crowded at all.

I had the hots for that chick when I was younger.

She'd make a great dominatrix, as an adult. Whatever floats your boat, man. I'm not here to judge.

0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit)

I know they detected an atmosphere on Enceladus back in Feb of 2005 but given it is "probably" not exactly the same pressure as Earth at sea level why would you chose this particular water temp?

NASA must have been looking at the lean coffers and decided something microbial might stir up some interest. After the big announcement of going back to the moon went over like a wet blanket, they needed something else to keep everyone gainfully employed. Marketing the Tang triumph can only go so far.

A more plausible scenario is Drudge either was too stupid to understand the info he got, deliberately exaggerated it, or the info got exaggerated in the chain of rumors that led to Drudge.

But, like I said, people are going to bash NASA instead of Drudge.

You don't think that finding life elsewhere is important?

LOL.

I can think of some other puppets I'd rather see . . . very off world.

Shrillery would top my list, I think.

The rovers can't really discern microbial life on Mars, if they did find something, it must be a significant fossilized remains of something.

This is just wrong. There is no life in our Solar System.

Certainly not intelligent life.

Here's a photo of Enceladus from Cassini 01/17/06.

It's my spring-break vacation destination!

Comes with the territory on this sort of topic.

Kind of like . . .

bees to flowers;
liberals to idiocy;
Shrillery to power mongering;
Dimrats to dead voters;
naysayers to . . .

Heck, I thought they were going to say there was a report of a crashed UFO in a alfalfa crop on a farm on the Saturn Moon at 2:15 am. (they never happen in the big cities) I mean, goodness, where is the toothless farmhand explaining the alien orifice penetration?

BREAKING NEWS: Life on Mars Found

According to Dan Rather, CBS News has recently obtained a copy of this photograph, which is certain proof of life on Mars.

After criticism from the blogosphere saying that the document was a fake, Rather said, "CBS stands by its story that life has been discovered on Mars. The criticisms leveled against the copy of the copy of the photo CBS obtained had to do with focus, shadowing, and texturing of the image. Experts CBS spoke with on Mars said that no earthling really has experience dealing with Martian photography conditions and cannot dispositively discount the photograph as a fraud."
