DRUDGE - Big NASA Announcement Set For Today...

Posted on 03/09/2006 7:58:40 AM PST by Vintage1

// NASA is planning to make a huge announcement today, about possible life in our own solar system. Exact details of what we can expect to hear have not been released. We do know that evidence has been found that could point to life relatively close to the earth.... No other information at this time

Fast-Talking NASA Spacecraft Starts Final Approach to Mars 03.08.06 -- NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has begun its final approach to the red planet after activating a sequence of commands designed to get the spacecraft successfully into orbit. The spacecraft arrives at Mars on March 10.

Let's hope they did the MATH right this time...............

It can only be, barring first contact which the White House would announce, be Mars. Mars is the planet currently being investigated vigorously, two robots on it's surface and a bunch of orbiters. The Euro's almost proved life on mars but measuring methane (i think). So my guess is Mars, maybe a fossil? Maybe an image of a live microbe? Maybe conclusive chemical analysis? Will be paying attention a 2pm.

"WE ARE THE ALIENS ARRRGHHH"

They will announce with think we found the possible fossil remains of a tiny microbe on Mars with one of the landers. But we can't be sure unless we go and look for ourselves.

Some claim we've been there a lot longer.

Interesting times, anyway.

They'll announce some stupidity like "H2O, one of the the building-blocks of life, found imbedded in a comet.......therefore, with 47 other elements arranged perfectly and in an unrepeateable sequence, perhaps, given that there could be some scrap of truth to the Urey-Miller fiasco,---there could be, maybe, might be (Oh, God, please let it be true ---just this once!), a possibility of a chance of something conceivably happening in the distant past."

That's the announcement? A little bit of an anti-climax.

When people are disappointed by the announcement, I fully expect them to blame NASA instead of morons like Drudge.

Arriving only to find it's orbital slot taken by the GIANT ALIEN SPACESHIP devouring the planet.

Luckily the autobots are on our side, and will aid us in defeating the decepticrats.

Elle: Hey, Jay! Zed called. The high consulate from Solaxiant 9 wants floor seats for the next Bulls game.

Jay: Alright, let's put in a call to Dennis Rodman. He's from that planet.

Elle: Rodman? You're kidding.

Jay: Nope.

Elle: Not much of a disguise.
