Hi all! Just got home! I hope our sickies (you know who you are) will soon be well enough to join us. You are missed.

What a glorious night! Warm...t-shirt, no jacket! Great turnout so we were able to raise the MOAB and the 2 mini MOABs.

We had a lot of soldiers come out to visit...including Joshua and his dad, Mike. Josh made it to all 4 corners using crutches, in order to speak to each of us. He wanted to go down the block and harass the pinkos, but his dad did not think it wise. He arrived back at the main corner and sat in a chair for a while before deciding he needed to go in. He had a long day touring the Pentagon and then out with us.

One soldier stopped to shake everyone's hand and thank us for being there. We of course thanked him and explained that they (the troops) are why we are there. He was a pleasure to talk to and had many interesting things to say. If you want the truth...talk to the troops!

A lovely couple stopped thank us and asked about our FReep. They had been visiting a friend and spotted us as they were leaving. They spent the rest of the evening with us.

Hope you enjoyed a peak into the evening events.

Oh, how wonderful!! THIS is how it should be.
My cockles are warm ; ) to hear of the troops being able to stop and visit...how nice it must be for them to be able to stroll the grounds freely.

Not a small thing.

The weather was awesome. I was a little late because I was dumb enough to use that parking lot you all call the "Beltway". I've never seen so many stupid drivers massed in one place.

When I got to Walter Reed, all the FReepers were there, the signs were up, the huge MOAB banner was flying along with the smaller banners. All 4 corners were manned by FReepers with their patriotic signs and American flags. It was a beautiful sight since the last time I was here in October of last year the Pinkos had the two corners across the street and now all 4 corners were held by real Americans supporting the troops.

Many FReepers admitted that I may not look all that much like Karl Rove anymore because of my dramatic weight loss since the last time I was here (54 lbs) but they called me Karl anyway. It was great meeting everyone again. I also got to meet Joshua Spaulding and his dad.

I pulled out my little bullhorn, plugged it in to my MP3 player, and cranked out a few patriotic tunes like "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue", "Iraq and I Roll", "Proud to be an American", "Battle Hymn of the Republic", and "Mansions of the Lord" while holding a "We support the troops and their mission" sign.

Then I saw the Pinkos down the block with their pitiful demonstration designed to demoralize the troops while pretending to support the troops. I saw Iraqikurd and BlackRepublican head down the block to give them a piece of their minds. I joined them as it was so difficult for me to hold my tongue Tuesday night at their Baathist propaganda rally in D.C. and I had a few things I wanted to say to them about that.

I joined the two FReepers and we stood directly across the street from the Pinkos. We all gave them a bit of hell about their lies, their donations to terrorists in Fallujah, and such. One large woman came across the street to insist that they had a permit for both sides of the street, even though they weren't using the side we were on, and that we would have to move off. I moved about 25 feet to some imaginary line by a tree while the other two guys held their ground. Princess, the girly-man pinko who wears a skirt or something came over too. Iraqikurd and BlackRepublican engaged them in debate and the large woman kept trying to shoo them away. I blasted the Pinkos with a few choice comments and chants for a while and then got out my toys.

Iraqikurd and BlackRepublican were still holding their ground and had challenged the Pinkos to produce their permit which said that they held both sides of the street and that we could not be there. Some guy said he would go and get the permit, but never returned. Seeing that they could produce no legitimate claim to the side of the street we were on, I rejoined the two other FReepers and carried on.

I pulled out my portable DVD player and then queued up a video taken by the Fedayeen Saddam chronicling their own torture and killings of political prisoners during Saddam's brutal reign. I held the DVD player up in one hand and invited any of the Pinkos who wanted to see the truth of who they're supporting with their demonstrations and propaganda stunts to come across the street and view the video. None would come over. As each gruesome event happened on the DVD, I would call across to them what was happening and chide them for sympathesizing with the subhumans who were committing these real atrocities. I condemned them for wanting to end the war early, before every last one of the bastards who engaged in the torture and murder depicted on the DVD was found and killed. I showed a video which showed the thousands of Kurds killed in Halabjah when Saddam Hussein attacked them with weapons of mass destruction. Princess said something about the chemical weapons being sold to Iraq by the United States. I countered that it was a lie to pretend that Saddam murdering his own people was in any way the fault of the United States. I said that just because we at one time did not consider Saddam an enemy doesn't mean that we should give him and his armies a pass for the atrocities they committed and the threat that they present to the world.

Perry pulled out his guitar and played the tired "Down by the Riverside" tune. I sang my own lyrics, "We're going to shoot some insurgents, down by the riverside" and such.

Then I went after their signs claiming that they support the troops. One sign said that they love the troops. I detailed some of the things that were said at the Code Pink event on Tuesday night. I asked them how they can claim to support of love the troops while just a few days earlier their organization was claiming that U.S. troops were committing atrocities in Iraq, they were intentionally machine-gunning civilian vehicles carrying families, bombing hospitals, and beating or assassinating doctors and other health care workers. I told them that the only troops that they were supporting with their demonstration in front of Walter Reed were the remnants of Saddam's Fedayeen and the insurgent terrorists who are maiming and killing U.S. troops. I reminded them that their organization had given over $600k to elements in Fallujah and that the money most certainly made it into the hands of those who are maiming and killing the soldiers that they claim to support.

Gael Murphy, the traitor, and another Pinko walked up the block to talk to Kristinn about our presence there across the street from them. Some Pinko guy, an older man, crossed the street and walked directly to me. He asked what I thought I was accomplishing. He asked if he yelled at me to change my mind on gay marriage if it would work. I told him that the difference was that I wasn't just telling them to change their minds, but I was engaging them with the truth and that their reaction to that truth was up to them. That there were likely some people there with his group that may not be familiar with the claims made by Code Pink, their history, and such. He told me that I wouldn't know the truth if it hit me as he walked away down the block and left the area completely. Good riddance, loser.

I then plugged the DVD player into the little bullhorn, adjusted the volume to ensure the Pinkos could hear it across the street, but not too loud to disturb anyone much further away, and started playing some pro troops videos such as those available from MoveAmericaForward.org as well as the Thank You America commercial from the Iraqi Kurds.

After I'd played the videos for a while, a blogger named CJ came down and engaged the Pinkos. He asked them why they always said they wanted to stop the war, but he'd never heard them call for stopping the jihad. He really laid into them. He wanted to use my bullhorn, but I knew that things could get out of hand if I let someone else start using the bullhorn. I told him that they Pinkos could hear him quite well if he just raised his voice a bit when traffic was somewhat light. They could and they didn't like what he had to say either.

Apparently the Pinkos didn't like the bullhorn/DVD thing and someone had called the police. Now, a few things about that. My little bullhorn could barely be heard above the sound of normal traffic. A bus or truck going by completely drowned it out. Therefore, I am sure that I violated no noise ordinance. Second, I was careful that my amplified sound was only used before 9pm, which is when the noise ordinance apparently changes on weeknights. It probably goes a little later on Fri. and Sat. nights, but I wanted to be careful. So, two police cars showed up and stopped up the block on the corners where the FReepers were. I didn't want to tempt fate, so I put my toys away in my backpack having already played all of the videos I had a couple of times and I'd already turned off the bullhorn and it was just dangling from the strap over my shoulder.

I walked up the street, back to the FReeper corners, to see what was going on. Two police officers were talking to various FReepers. One said that she was going to "check everyone out."

Check everyone out they did. The officers went down the street to the Pinkos and apparently found that they actually had NO permit. They ordered the Pinkos to vacate the area. So, their stupid trick of calling the police to shut those of us who were engaging them from across the street totally backfired against them. It was a great sight to see the Pinko traitor scum rolling up their banners and signs, packing up, and leaving the area - defeated once again.

I hung out with FReepers on each corner holding the troop support sign. The troop bus came by and we all held up our signs, cheered, gave thumbs up, and such. The bus driver slowed, turned on the interior lights, and many of the troops and family members waved and gave us thumbs up right back.

It was great to meet everyone again and the FReep with them. I can't think of a better way to spend a Friday night away from home. I hope I'm here through the week and can make it next Friday night. I'm heading up to Olney today to participate in the FReep up there.

If you want the truth...talk to the troops!

I feel the same way. They have the ONLY truth ... about a lot of things. Heartwarming to hear of Joshua and his Dad's time with you. And! I am plain ol' jealous of all that huggin' you do. J/K.
