Perhaps you don't understand what I'm trying to say.

I'm saying that no one I spoke with under the age of 40 expects to even see a dime from SS. We know (I'm almost 38) that we'll be paying into it our whole lives, and we won't get a penny back.

We are on our own.

Everyone you know may be all set. I probably know many more people's financial situations than you do. I don't think I'm painting with a broad brush at all.

Broad brush, don't you know, just give into the myth, all babyboomers are EVIL. I'll take my BMW, my McMansion, My medipharm, my heating costs, my nursing home, it's all MINE, MINE, MINE, and after, the gen alphabet's won't have a pot to **** in. Get with the program, baby boomers are evil, might as well use it to your advantage, and agree with those who know better. We'll be dead, no worries. Never mind the FACT that the 'greatest' generation implemented these social programs while boomers were riding bicycles. The only good thing is, the gen alphabet's should consider mortuary as a career choice.

Honestly, I'm real tired of it, so I'm using extreme sarcasm to make a point.

"No, changes do not occur. That is not science, but myth. Every species that exists today has existed since creation, and there is no evidence to the contrary, only intense desire and belief in anything that would negate God's plan."

True, but I'm going to assume that the rich and upper middle class in america aren't stupid. So in 40 years when the majority of people don't pay taxes and collect welfare, the rich will make their move, using combat robots and take the country back.

I'm 48, and I have planned for the future. I plan on never retiring.

Why 90%, let's just get it overwith and make it 100%. Redistribution, baby, that's the wave of the future!

"LOL. We are so damn unhealthy--bet you had bacon and eggs for breakfast, drank whole milk, ate meat, potatoes and gravy with bread spread with real butter and drank coffee."

What, have you been following me around all day or what? LOL

"I sincerely hope they do not expect the government to help them."

Why would we?
Unless you know about our secret plan to invade a small country and demand US and international "aid" for all us political refugees?

"...with no one caring whether you live or die "

That bit of the piece made me edgy; it sounded like he was about to burst into a hymn in praise of the "social safety net".

How can I possibly save for retirement? I've got to pay for the new 50" plasma, the new kitchen, the new 7-Series in the garage, the kids private schools, the country club, and annual vacations in Hawaii. I don't see any way I can possibly save for retirement.

That's my fear, too. I can see means testing for Social Security and and excise tax on 401(k) withdrawals, all so I can subsidize those who couldn't save and invest for themselves.

I believe that you won't have any problem snuffing us out, I really do. And it all started with Roe v Wade. If unborn babies are fair game, why not unwanted, useless old folks? They're just sucking up resources you could use more wisely, right?
You do know that I was forced by the Feds to pay into Social Security for 50 years, don't you? And that they lied and said the money was in a "lock box", right? They send me statements every year and tell me that when I'm 67 I will receive about $1200 a month. All my life I paid for this pittance? Who can live on $1200 a month nowadays? But for years I've known that I wouldn't receive what they say I will, because Congress in it's wisdom forgot to figure in Roe v Wade and it's consequences. My mom had 12 kids, I had one. My Mom had 12 supporters, I only have one. How many supporters do YOU dare bring into a world such as ours?

I have my doubts, but I think, yes, you'll still get something. But I don't know if you'll get full payments until you die.

They're going to have to jack up payroll taxes on businesses and youngsters if they want all boomers to get full payments, IMHO.

Yea i understand that you paid for 50 years, and I'm sorry that you had to, but we need to end social security now. If the estimates are correct, I'll pay into SS for my entire career, just to have it go bankrupt the year I can collect it! So ill pay the entire time, and get nothing! Zero. I am 100% sure I will never see a penny in SS unless they dramatically raise the tax rate on it, which in the end would be worse than just not getting it.

Even though I think abortion is murder, I'm not going to say abortion is hurting our country economically because its not. Most abortions are children who would grow up with in a terrible family, and people like that are the ones on welfare draining our nation. Still murder is murder, you can't put a price on that. Unless your 70 and voting to raise my taxes to pay for your diapers and health insurance to un prolapse your anus.
