Neither was I. The Commanding General frowned on his officers doing that sort of thing. :)
People need to start having more children to help support them in their old age.
Amen to the "addiction to credit."
I see far too many people who have the two new $40 - $60,000 vehicles, the $400K house, expensive vacations, ATVs, boats...and have nothing in the bank.
They're in their 40s, living paycheck-to-paycheck, and the only reason is that they could never tell themselves, "No. I don't NEED that. And I can't afford it."
Don't worry about those 401k's, one dem congress, we'll kiss it all goodbye, well except for us baby boomers, we have the golden key, what's ours is ours.
Whoops. Yes. UNDER age 40.
Sorry.
That's after us babyboomers suck dry the economy.
There is very little to refund. It's been spent, either on our parents retirement or "loaned" to the general fund, for Welfare Queens and their spawn.
Not true, furthermore, we had 4 kids (two more than the government advocated) to spread the cost.
Darn skippy!!
You mean more children that the public schools are failing to teach anything useful?
Not a great retirement plan there.
If I was in charge, we'd have a constitutional republic, as intended in the constitution. I'd strip all the legislature and start all over again. Like I said, I'll never be elected, just like you probably won't ever be elected.
I think that is a good bet. If anyone thinks the government is going to let common man (their fodder) get ahead they are mistaken.
absolutely correct
Well, that's a broad brush you're painting with. Everyone I know, we're all set for retirement, and we don't want ss or government intervention. We can take care of ourselves, thanks, but no thanks. I've never expected to live off the government teet.
Probably the very reason they continue to assist the loan sharks. LOL
I like your attitude.
I understand. I have a 46 year old brother like that.
Oops, I forgot that. Bet you had plenty of hot chocolate when you went ice skating too. Those really were the days of fun and family and these kids don't think we know anything and that we are nothing but takers. Wish I could be around when it goes around.
Born 30 years earlier? I'd rather grow up in the 2000 decade ( I dunno what to call 2000-2010) than the 70s. We got cell phones, computers, video games, cheap cars, food costs almost nothing, HBO and FX have amazing TV shows, and porn is free to all on the internet. Life is pretty good for us Gen X and Yers.
