The bill they attached it to is for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan not politicians. The congress said they had enough votes to override a veto on the ports deal so why did they have to attach it to our soldier's money? If they don't like it, kill it but don't hold military money hostage.

This is nothing unusual. If Bush is that opposed, he can veto and ask for a separate bill funding Iraq and Afghanistan. Oh, but wait, the President who is above politics will be afraid of the political fallout from a veto. Hmmm, guess he can't have it both ways.
