...If you can not see this, then I conclude that you are among those who do not respect the religious beliefs of others ... I respect others' religious beliefs, but I don't think they give you an excuse to cut classes.
In particular, I don't care if a person is a Christian Scientist. He still has to learn the germ theory of disease.
I believe Mormons have to learn the history of preColumbian America as reconstructed by historians. I don't care that it contradicts their scripture.
I don't care if your parents are Commies. You still have to learn about the free market.
I don't care if you're Amish. You still need to know the basics of electricity.
Ditto with evolution. I don't care what your religious beliefs are, you still need to know the ToE, learn some of the evidecnce that has convinced virtually all biologists to accpt it, and also study some of the phylogenies.

Virginia-American,
Did you also applaud when the government forced Navajo children from their homes and herded them into English speaking boarding schools?
You do not respect other's religious beliefs if you advocate the government FORCING Amish children into schools that would FORCE the study of electricity on them. By the way, the Amish fought this all the way to the Supreme Court and WON. The government does NOT have the right to force the study of electricity on Amish children.
You do not respect the religion of others if you advocate government force ( this means police, court, and foster care action ) to actively undermine the culture and religious beliefs of Mormons, Christian Scientists, or communists.
Parents are to direct the upbringing of their children (17th Amendment),,,,not the government and this is exactly what government schools do. Government schools establish the politics, culture, and morals, ethics, and values ( with religious and anti-religious consequences) of some citizens and trash and undermine the most deeply held cultural and religious traditions of others. ( A First Amendment violation)
To accomplish all of the above, government schools threaten citizens with police action if they refuse to cooperate with the tax funding of this abuse, or if they refuse to submit their children to the iron will of a government school that can never be religiously neutral in content or consequences.

People are not stupid, Virginia-American. What I have written here and in other posts will be seen for the truth that it is.
