All but confirming what goes on in those "Girls Gone Wild" videos, 83 percent of college women and graduates surveyed by the AMA said spring break involves heavier-than-usual drinking, and 74 percent said the break results in increased sexual activity.
Ah, yes, but which came first, the chicken or the egg?

More than half said they regretted getting sick from drinking on the trip. Fascinating sentence. It says so much.
To: ShadowDancer
10 percent said they regretted engaging in public or group sexual activity. Or in other words - that is a 90% approval rating!

Spring Break 2006 is underway here in Panama City Beach. Ever since the "Girls Gone Wild" videos came out the students coming here seem to think they have to emulate the behavior they saw or heard about on the videos.
Although most locals don't like it, a good many of them go to the beach to watch....and, of course they take their camcorders. If you have a lot of beads or a camcorder, you get your own private flash.

If you have a lot of beadsI probably don't want to know what that means, do I?

Here's a surprise! The newspapers usually wait until AFTER Spring Break ends before they publish these articles.

I was talking to a doctor at a university once and remembered it was spring break season. I asked whether there was an increase in students with STDs in the weeks following.
He answered that he and his staff basically handled the "three S's": sports (physicals and injuries), shots (required for admission), and sex.
Every year, he said there was an uptick in STDs after spring break. And often times it's diseases that a round of antibiotics won't fix.

I have reservations about just about everything the AMA does or says, since they adapted a political and socially manipulative posture.
