You are usually well informed, so please clear this up for me...have the media and his other assorted enemies suggested that DeLay could lose in the Primary, or have they suggested that he could lose to the Democrat in the General?

It makes a difference IF one is wanting to crow and celebrate this Primary win as a slap against media predictions. Or is it just that he is winning big in Primary and the media thought it would be closer??

I only recall once hearing Mort Kondrake suggest that DeLay might lose to Nick Lampson, the Dem...

Oh yeah, I forgot about maui_hawaii.

It looks like DeLay will cruise to victory, and I'm not terribly shocked about the Dan Patrick win, although I wouldn't have expected it by that margin.

Patrick annoys me on several levels, but he's going to stick a hot poker on the seats in Austin, and that's not all bad.

Are you finally home, HC?

A very good and well respected Christian conservative in Houston.

Latest tibits across the wire:

Just as the congressman and his wife, Christine, strolled toward the Precinct 4119 polling location at a Sugar Land High School, Tom Campbell arrived, driving a 35-foot long motor home that has become the symbol of his campaign.

The two candidates barely glanced at each other as DeLay and his wife made their way in to vote.

Campbell and campaign manager Mike Stanley walked a few steps behind as television cameras — national and local — captured the bit of political theater.

Campbell also took advantage of the media entourage that had staked out the polling location Tuesday morning to get video and pictures of DeLay voting. While at first claiming the nearly simultaneous arrival at the polling location was “not planned,” Stanley later admitted he had poll watchers across the county “on DeLay watch and calling in.”

The icy demeanor outside gave way to warm hugs and smiles once inside the polling location, however. Poll workers leapt to their feet to greet the DeLays, while Campbell waited outside with a few volunteers.

Patrick is a local radio broadcaster in Houston and former TV newscaster, among other business ventures. His contest is for the Texas state legislature and really has no implications nationally.

It's kind of a big deal because he's successfully organized a major property tax revolt and it has a lot of conservatives fired up.

I haven't seen the Cuellar results yet for that House seat. The early returns didn't look good, but the way that district is drawn, early returns may not mean much.

No surprise.

Maybe not for us. But what about the intrepid journalists of the AP and Reuters?

What's a rented puppy?

LOL. I have no idea. it was something my momma always said because she felt saying "I'm gonna beat you like a redheaded stepchild" was mean. I guess it's not mean if you only rent the puppy for the purpose of beating it.
