Democrat for Senate: Kill practicing 'gays'

Candidate says incumbent Republican not advocating biblical values enough

Merrill Keiser

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.

Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.

"Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs – we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser told WTOL-TV in Toledo.

Keiser, 61, says he's running as a Democrat because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.

The trucker, who hails from Fremont, Ohio, says there needs to be more adherence to biblical values in government, business and education – something he claims DeWine is not promoting.

"I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts," he told the Sandusky Register. "To get good men on the court, we need good senators."

Some of Keiser's other positions include defense of the Second Amendment, securing U.S. borders, lower taxes to stimulate the economy, support of Israel and prayer in public schools.

Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.

The candidate also decries evolution, saying it is contrary to the Declaration of Independence.

Knock off the sophistry. Advocating state sponsored capital punishment for homosexual acts is advocating killing for homosexual acts. I support state sponsored capital punishment for those found guilty of premeditated murder after due process - therefore, I ADVOCATE killing those guilty of premeditated murder. I don't need to couch it any other way.

Alas, the mad mullahs have not cornered the market on evil and stupidity. We still have our "talibornagain" mired in the 3000's BC, whose zany antics will always provide a foil to deflect criticism of islamofascists. "See, you have them too." Unfortunately, yes, we do.

By the way, do I dare ask whether CCF considers oral sex between a man and woman equally deserving of condemnation? Some do think that way, you know. Same with those who use barrier contraception (considered "hedonistic" and comparable to "sex with a whore" by some). Lots of us could be in trouble.

I wasn't sure if maybe you meant me, since I do think the death penalty should be way expanded and have expressed that on FR numerous times. But just for practicing same sex sodomy, no.

But if people don't want to hire/live with/listen to/rent to/look at parades of/have as teachers BSA leaders etc homosexuals, that's not only fine with me, it's a good idea. Homosexuals need help and treatment, and as long as everyone around them acts like they're Nature's Noblemen it'll be harder for them to face reality.

I'm not the "anti-American one," simply because you've been unable to match me on the basis of scripture and aside from that you pretty much misrepresent what I say or you just dismiss it as crazy when the fact is I think you're as crazy as you think I am.

Thomas Jefferson said what many today would consider radical - the tree of liberty must from time to time be cleansed with the blood of patriots and tyrants. I would caution you for the founders lived in a United States where we basically had state established religions - state constitutions forbade the denial of protestant truth, etc. While America has never executed sodomites, it has always been regarded as a criminal offense and we have never had the unprecedented assault on traditional values coupled with this morbid elavation of sodomites to cultural "heroes."

God has demonstrated his will with the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis, Chapter 19. As for abortionists, they're conducting mass murder to the tune of 45 million or so, and your as complicit as the Germans who consented to Hitler's Holocaust. I suppose stalin's remark that a single death is a tragedy, but a million deaths are merely a statistic.

I won't stop calling myself a conservative simply because unprincipled men deny the truth.

Supporting capital punishment doesn't make one a murderer or a nutcase.

So being able to quote scriptures off of the top of your head is a measure in determining how American you are?

I would be willing to bet there are some Catholic priests in Africa and Europe who are more "American" by that standard than we are.

What a silly argument.

Jude 1:4 - For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Jude 1:7 - In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

Jude 1:10 - Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals—these are the very things that destroy them.

Jude 1:16 - These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.

I'm aware of the scripture when it says to love one another, but could you cite the scripture that instructs you to love sinners, but hate sin? As to consensus, I seek no consensus outside the Bible, for the musings of men often are rather boorish, but homosexuality is referred to as wickedness in the Bible and such activity is harmful to society. Sure, these days hedonism is celebrated, but I wouldn't think of waivering...why? They're not God. "But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish." -II Peter, Chapter 2, verse 12.

This is where I must suffer you...you took my statement out of context - "...but you'll ask me if I think Rudoplh is a hero because he set off a bomb or two?" I didn't declare him a "hero." The point I was driving at was I don't regard him as a hero because he set off a bomb or two - only to wonder in the Mountains of my state, N.C. This is a creation owed entirely unto you...from the forked tongue you created this entire discussion of Rudolph...although you seem content with the mass murder when it is called abortion.

For all the backbiting...they all share one thing in common - they speak no ill of the abortion holocaust and are perfectly willing to stand by and watch mass murder continue...and they consider me the "bad guy."

The problem is that they're not innocent and their transgression is not "victimless," for God has been wronged and they are no more tolerable than the men of Sodom. Why do I speak of abortion - we'll people started speaking about mass murder and I pointed out how you all are content with a holocaust....how many will die today and will you even give it a a moment of thought?

"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping." --II Peter 2:1-3

The entire Gospel is about Jesus loving sinners and hating the sin. He fraternized with repentant tax collectors and sinners and told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more. He said the second greatest commandment was to love thy neighbor as thyself. To say that the Gospel teaches us to hate the sinner and not just the sin is a serious misunderstanding of the whole Gospel. None of the statements you cite mandate the death penalty, but something worse, in fact, i.e., eternal damnation for those who do not repent of homosexual acts, which are clearly sinful.

You are the one who when asked about Eric Rudolph's attacks stated, "Extreme circumstances DEMAND extreme actions."

Rudolph is in jail for the extreme actions that you claim are demanded of conservatives.

Too bad you are not in jail also.

Good for you....45 million dead and you've been as brave as to write a letter...if only someone had written more letters Eichman would have shut down the death camps.

Wonderful...thousands die daily and you managed to picket outside a death camp...who exactly have you voted for that has done more than talk? Perhaps Osama Bin Laden would call of his terrorism if only more people would picket him.

You're accusation, weak, for one policy advocate is no less actionable - we've never discussed means because there is a serious disagreement on the fundamental principle. I think you're a careless person...a compromising person...and it pains you for don't seem able or willing to part with secular society, even as corrupt and degenerate as it is, and devote yourself unto God.
