But I have never needed Trig.I've never "had" to run four miles or press 275 lbs from my chest, but having done these things (repeatedly) has certainly helped me in other physical (and mental) tasks.

The reason I no longer do those things is because I now do other things. Things that I find more important and more valuable. Like sitting down in the morning and having a cup of coffee and a nice conversation with the wife.
Yes I could go through the mathematical exercise of the decline in temperature of the coffee relative to the room temperature or volume of coffee in the cup...... but that is a DISTRACTION away from what is important. Besides, the wife would get reeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllllyyyyyy ticked.
I do not need it, so I don't do it.
