What this WHOLE debate about who is white and who isn't is all about not being considered black and all that comes along with that. I am sorry to say that living where I live many of the Salvadoreans don't like black people and want the white priviledge. They don't want to be white, just want what white people have. I remember this guy was trying to hit on me constantly well that all ended abruptly when he saw my mother (thankfully!). He was even darker than me go figure BUT because he had some light eyes somehow that made him as white as Rutger Hauer.
If by "being white" they mean speaking proper English and getting an education, then they will NEVER have what we have.
Let's also not forget that Korean Americans, East Indian Americans, and Japanese Americans all have per capita incomes higher than whites.
Personally, I identify with folks who share my education and outlook. That means that I identified more with my East Indian classmates than with Vito in the stock room, whatever genes we may have in common.
