New York has been a solidly Democratic, high tax state long before Calipornia. Nothing will change in that regard.

Besides, Calipornia's problems stem from the fact that the Anglos voted in generous social services without wanting to pay for them. Calipornia has been a liberal state, even when it elected Republicans.
