I'm sure there is a much larger population of blacks than Hispanics in Chicago. There are three black congressmen and only one Latino.

Well, yeah, they had to gerrymander the hell out of that one "earmuffs" district to elect one Latino congressman. Meanwhile, the three black districts are fairly contigugous.

It sounds like there has been a huge uptick in Latino migration to the Chicago area and it is bypassing the city. If the black population is mostly staying urban and south-suburban, I can see the suburbs having more Latinos than blacks. But the entire Chicago metro area? I would need to see the news story that claims that before I believe it. That would be a transformation of historic proportions.

Of course, where you live in Filthydelphia, "ethnic" still means Irish and Italian, whereas both of those groups all but left NYC years ago and, other than the affluent, are now leaving the suburbs as well.

Philly is NYC circa late 60s/early 70s. With a worse economy. ;-)
