There was a considerable increase in the nonreligious, albeit not to the levels of the Pacific Northwest. The decennial U.S. Census does not ask about people's religion. It hasn't in many, many decade. To what census are you referring? I would love to see such statistics.

Sorry, its not the census, but the American Religious Identification survey.

I forgot that I was not asked my religion when I answered my form six years ago.
