Once you reach a level above 20% Jewish, the perception from outside is that you're at 90%. It happened with my suburban town.

LOL. Mercer Island, WA is about 15-20% (largest in the Seattle area), and people refer to it as a "Jewish" suburb. My WASPy ex-girlfriend would take exception to that.

I believe, however, that at one time Lawrence, NY and Livingston, NJ, to name but two towns, were at least 60% Jewish, although this has probably dropped. Nevertheless, what you say is usually correct. Perception equals reality to many people.
