Tony Snow is back and better than ever! Tony's gguests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:
Line It Up: The President says he wants the power of a line-item veto. Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Joshua Bolton, will tell Tony why thats a good idea.
Say No To Foreigners? Legislation will be introduced in Congress on Tuesday (today) that would force foreign firms to give up operations at all of the nations port terminals. Good idea - - if you want our entire economy to collapse.
Primary Day Its primary day for several of the nations key lawmakers - - including Tom DeLay down in Texas. Should we expect any upsets? Tonys got the inside scoop.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
Good morning, folks. Here is your Tony Snow Show ping.
....present!
I quit listening to this party-line cheerleader some time ago.
I'm going to spend some time today studying dinasour's excellent tutorial on posting neat stuff and see if I can't figure it out.
Morning, Mime.
I missed the show yesterday. Did Tony talk more about the Barrett Report?

One of William Shakespeare's most intriguing characters is Lady Macbeth. Having heard a prophecy that her husband would become king, she convinced him to assassinate the reigning monarch. When the bloody deed was done, Macbeth was conscience-stricken. His wife rebuked his squeamishness and helped him cover up the crime. Her husband was crowned king. But that wasn't the end.
Lady Macbeth's initial resolve turned to remorse. She grew mentally unstable, and couldn't stop washing her hands. "Will these hands ne'er be clean?" she asked. Finally, the guilt drove Lady Macbeth to suicide.
Guilt is an emotion that can weigh us down whenever we cross a moral boundary. All of us are capable of feeling guilty when we violate the law of God written in our hearts (Romans 2:14-15). If we continue to sin willfully, however, we will dull our conscience.
Lady Macbeth is a good reminder of a biblical principle: Whatever we sow, we will certainly reap (Galatians 6:7-8). When we feel temptation, we need to listen to our consciencenot try to silence it. It's far better to avoid committing an act we will later regret than to live with the consequences. Dennis Fisher
Only Jesus' blood can wash away the stain of sin.
And you just felt the need to come and bless us all with this revelation...
No, he didn't. I saw a new article earlier today. It's hard to bring it up when you can't find anything new to report. Maybe the article will help revive interest. I'll see if I can find it.
Good Morning everyone! Bahbah, thanks for the ping!
. . . thought you might enjoy discussing the following:
[As posted on the DOSE last evening]
POLLING UPDATE:
After listening to the MSM relentlessly trumpet the bogus CBS poll, I thought you might enjoy reading some VERY interesting results from the just released ABCNEWS/WASHINGTON POST POLL:
Sample Composition: +8 Democrat
50% Democrat/Leaners
42% Republican/Leaners
President's Job Approval
03/05/06 41% approve 58% disapprove
01/26/06 42% approve 56% disapprove
[change within margin of error . . . off low of 39:60 -- imagine what the President's JA rating would be had the pollster given REPUBLICANS an 8 point advantage; gee, I'd even settle for an EVEN advantage!!]
President's Favorability
03/05/05 46% favorable 54% unfavorable
[FYI: Because JA and Favorability ratings have become indistinguishable measures for pollees, the President's JA rating (for this poll) is actually somewhere between 41% and 46%! NOTE: Per usual, this pollster does NOT produce a LIKABILITY (i.e., popularity) rating!]
Interestingly, the President's JA ratings have gone UP vis a vis:
IRAQ 40%:59% vs 39%:60% (low -- 36%:64% 11/05)
ECONOMY 48%:51% vs 46%:52% (low -- 36%:61% 11/05)
And remained the same for
TERRORISM 52%:46% (low -- 48%:51% 11/05)
LEADERSHIP 52%:48% (low -- 47%:53% 11/05)
The President's JA ratings are also MUCH HIGHER than the ratings for CONGRESS:
03/05/06 36% approve 62% disapprove (former low -- 37%:59% 11/2/05)
01/26/05 43% approve 53% disapprove (-10)
[The Congress plummeted from a -10 to a -26 . . . Frankly, I think the President should be running from the Congress, not the 'other way around'!]
OVERALL, WHICH PARTY, THE DEMOCRATS OR THE REPUBLICANS, DO YOU TRUST TO DO A BETTER JOB IN COPING WITH THE MAIN PROBLEMS THE NATION FACES OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS?
03/05/06 42% Democrats 40% Republicans Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!
01/26/06 51% Democrats 37% Republicans (+14)
12/18/05 47% Democrats 42% Republicans (+5)
11/02/05 49% Democrats 37% Republicans (+12)
BETTER JOB:
IRAQ
03/05/06 42% Democrats 42% Republicans Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!
01/26/06 47% Democrats 40% Republicans (+7)
11/02/06 48% Democrats 37% Republicans (+11)
ECONOMY
03/05/06 49% Democrats 40% Republicans Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!
01/26/06 55% Democrats 37% Republicans (+18)
11/02/06 56% Democrats 34% Republicans (+22)
TERRORISM
03/05/06 39% Democrats 46% Republicans Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!
01/26/06 41% Democrats 46% Republicans (-5)
11/02/05 42% Democrats 42% Republicans (even)
UAE PORTS DEAL
03/05/06 23% should 70% should not
HOWEVER . . . .
DO YOU THINK ELECTED OFFICIALS WHO HAVE BEEN CRITICIZING THE DUBAI PORTS WORLD TAKEOVER OF THE MANAGEMENT OF SOME US OPERATIONS MAINLY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT NATIONAL SECURITY OR MAINLY WANT TO USE THE ISSUE FOR POLITICAL ADVANTAGE?
49% Political Advantage
37% National Security
Despite an OVERSAMPLING OF DEMOCRATS (+8), this poll features some very positive survey results for the President and the GOP!!

Thank you, Mayor. A moment of peace and reflection in our busy day.
