So why does George H. W. Bush and President Bush treat Bill Clinton like he's a decent human being?

There's a possibility that it all goes back to the operations of the CIA out of the Mena, Ark. airport during the term of Bush I when the CIA was apparently smuggling arms to various freedom fighters in Central America and cocaine was possibly coming back on the return flights. The Wall Street Journal ran a few editorials about this during the Clinton years. It's at least possible that the Bushes knew about the cocaine shipments and did nothing about them because it was necessary to maintain cover for the CIA operations. That's what was implied in some of those WSJ editorials. If so, the Clintons have a good way to blackmail the Bushes.

Because they're playing the game too.

I am afraid this is not a case of Republican vs. Democrat, but one of "ruling class vs. the unwashed masses". I am really not holding my breath for an elected official, of either party to rat on another politician. In this respect, there appears to be not a dime's worth of difference between the current administration and the past one.
