Police in Palm Bay, Fla., arrested seven teens in the last several days wanted in connection with a series of home break-ins that were apparently committed because the group wanted an "adrenaline rush," according to a police report.
David Deluna, 18, Matt Rivera, 19, and a 16-year-old were charged with grand theft and burglary charges Monday. Another four suspects were taken into custody and charged on Friday, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.
"When these three realized that we were looking for them on Friday, they left together and went to the beach," said Jesse Suelter, a Palm Bay detective working on the case. "We arrested one on Saturday and found the other two sleeping at their residences today."
Police said the seven teens knew each other from work and school. All came from upper middle class homes but told authorities they carried out the crimes for "an adrenaline rush," Suelter told Florida Today.
The teens randomly picked homes to break into during the day and early evening, Suelter said. In one home they stole a gun. In others, cash, electronics and jewelry were taken.
He also said the teens would ring doorbells and if they did not get an answer they would kick in the doors.
"The suspects were very arrogant and the attitude they had was unbelievable. I explained the possibility that one of them could get hurt or shot. One of them told us that he was a big boy and that 'I think I could take 'em,' " Suelter said.

ok, how many folks' preferred home defense weapon has 7 or more rounds loaded right now?
almost no shotguns would, unless you have a USAS-12 or maybe spas-12 (though those have spring issues on the last round). needless to say revolvers are out.

They could be darwin winners if even one person was home when they broke in. Florida has some of the loosest laws when it comes to shooting someone in your home.Although im thinking some of these teens probably got the idea from watching the drug cops day after day that break into private homes for the exact same reasons these kids did.

Hmm. My Dad and I were laughing about people from my hometown getting a thrill out of going to Canada to drink for spring break. I guess it's better than some alternatives.

Although I'm a big fan of high-capacity magazines, these sound like spoiled suburban mallrats and after you blow down the first two I'm guessing that the rest would be running as fast as their $250. sneakers could carry them.

yeah, but wouldn't it suck to put 2 shots per target in the intruders and still have folks running around your house when you ran out?

Besides, when it's you vs. multiple clients, you serve one per customer till all customers have been serviced.
THEN you go back for seconds.

Why, oh why can't we hear of a story wherein these types of punks run into a regular guy? I don't think I'd need my pistol to handle any or all of these goblins. Although, my customized Louisville slugger(sawed off, with lanyard) would get a hell of a work out. "Honest officer, the lil bastard kept threatening me, so I kept smackin' him around". "What? Well, yeah, he did try to get away several times. But, I wasn't finished with 'em yet".

The mere sound of a pumpgun getting shucked has caused more than a few pairs of britches to get soiled. I suprised a couple of little idiots in my shed one night, and could hear them bouncing off of trees, until they were way back in the swamp. I suppose they made it to the other side, sooner or later.

Ya know - I do think those shows (especially the one called "Texas S.W.A.T.") have the potential to create some unintended consequences. There's something about "over the top force" that I find - well - creepy. What ever happened to reasonable force? Anyway I think you have a point.
These youngsters seem to be the type that might be a problem to society for a while. I hope not though. Maybe they will be good soldier candidates and get a chance to work off some of that aggressive behavior.
