Interesting article! I see mean women all the time. I've worked for mean women, as well. And let me tell you, working for a woman supervisor can be the toughest job. I've had some great nursing supervisors, but there have been that couple who are terrible, vindictive, spiteful, etc. Female principals are pretty much the same...most, anyway!

Small story--I've worked around a lot of women, and when I went to build my home I thought, "Guy stuff. Construction, carptenters, contractors." I had it in mind that this would be ONE experience without PMS or menopause moodiness in "coworkers"--in this case, guys who would be working for me and with me.

The whining. The b*tching. The complaining. The pouting. The snippiness and fussiness--every time one guy would finish, the next guy would be all offended about some sawdust. Was I disillusioned.

While in general I'd rather work for a guy than a gal--there is a lot of male PMS out here.

I am a registered nurse. I left nursing almost 30 years ago. I now have a doctorate in a very heavily male dominated health professsion. In my professional school of a little under 600 students, only 14 of us were women.

What a relief! Nursing students and nurses themselves can be the meanest of the mean girls. The were the very meanest when I was working toward my doctorate. They couldn't stand it that I was making my way out.
