These government types think they have some sort of control over you and me. The internet thinks differently. They can pass all the crap they want to. They can even shut down the internet. But encoding and technology will overtake them and leave them on the doorstep of yesterday.

One more comment...this will directly lead to the deaths of some people...of course the dems don't care if people die from their idiotic laws. I have, for instance, received death threats from muslims on other message boards...so if I had to post with my actual name they will be able to locate me and follow through on their threats...and, of course, the dems won't do anything about muslims making those threats or following through on them. Idiots.

OK, thanks for clarifying. Like I said, it's been nearly 10 years since I signed on here. I did use my real name as a screenname when Free Republic first started out but I changed to this moniker in 1997.

Why we keep electing lawyers to office is beyond me to begin with. Are there no worthy intelligent people other than a bunch of bottom feeding lawyers?

How do they intend to enforce it? The same way they enforce "no anonymous messages in public restrooms".
It's the end for Kilroy...

I wonder what the "author" of the Federalist Papers (Publius) would have to say on the subject of anonymity?

"How do they intend to enforce it? "
Well our Chinese brothers have figured it out. This knowledge will be another product that we can import from our Chinese comrades.
I'm all for this, knowledge and opinions are to valuable to kept by individuals. The needs of the state are much more important than the rights of some computer gadfly.
If people can post opinions anywhere and anytime, we will have total anarchy and our government could be threatened. This must not be allowed.

It would be more "dangerous" if peoples' real names are used, anyway..."

so much for freedom of speech and a free press. Of course this law would only be enforced on Free Republic and other conservative/libertarian boards and not on say the Daily Kos or Democratic Underground.
