"If people didn't want me to be king, they wouldn't have nominated me and voted for me."

Hey Jenny, If God wanted you to be King at Hood College, you'd have balls.

;-)

It was only the second annual homecoming at Hood, which didn't allow male students to live on campus until 2003.

Sounds like a failed experiment to me.

She is known on campus as a multi-sports athlete

Who wants to bet against me that field hockey is one of those "multi-sports"? Huh? Who wants some? :-P

But Jennifer Jones, the 21-year-old senior who beat out three men for the honor

Doesn't say much for these "men". Maybe she was the manliest of the bunch.

Students will ALWAYS vote for the bizarre to thumb their noses at the authority figures. So the REAL problem here is the rule(s) which allowed her to be in the running for homecoming King.

I guess that if the students don't want this to happen again more than 169 of them will vote and it will take more than a active minority of 64 people to make a lesbian king.

However, I expect that the majority will remain apathetic and won't care who win the positions of king or queen.

Next time the kids who a real kingm will have to organize and vote like the lesbians on campus did.

But most kids could care less about homecomming and did not participate in picking a lesbian for a king.

The loser should get the ACLU to represent him in a gender discrimination suit.

Jones, who is openly homosexual, received 64 of 169 votes cast,

Out of over 2000 students only 169 cast votes? Maybe next time more folks will pay attention.

private liberal-arts college.

In defense of logic, it IS a liberal arts college. I'd be surprised if this DIDN'T happen.

A friend of mine who lives there said that this wasn't a homosexual agenda, but it was the women's way of saying they didn't want men on their campus. Hood only recently started accepting male students, much to the displeasure of the female student population.
