Things must be pretty bad down there, if Hugo is pulling out this old trick. Focus the poeple on an outside aggressor, to take their minds off the fact that you have your boot across their neck.
My worry is that Chavez is using these tactics as an excuse to ramp up his military capability, especially in the area of asymetric warfare. He has no hope of being able to stop the US if we wanted to take him out, but such a force would be handy for inserting into neighboring countries for the purposes of exporting and fomenting his revolution. Just like his hero Castro used to do (still does?).

A Boy Scout troop is all that's needed for this bunch.

For their own safety, they better get some French officers and a lot of bedsheets.

I visited Venezuela a couple years before slimeboy became presidente. The average people then were very friendly toward Americans in my experience. Many kindnesses were shown to me by complete strangers. This is so sad.

"That being said, they have no idea of the hell that would be unleashed on them." Not if the Nero Party is in control.
The sKerry's and Clintons of this nation would be on the same page with regards to the United States.

I gotta agree, ignore the little schmuck....He's latched his star to the other latin looser, Castro, and he's going to ride that down to it's eventual ugly end. We aren't going to have to do a thing, and if we do, I don't expect it to be much more than a larger version of Panama in 1989.

This "force" is being formed to repress any dissent in the country and not to repel an American Invasion.

They are also given training in repelling polar bears..
(But there aren't any polar bears within ten thousand miles
of Venneyzoolah...you might remark)
and you'd be right....and proves what a fine job they are doing...
