Its an election year and Hollywood doesn't want to to give us any more ammo. It's a calculated decision IMHO.

I didn't watch the oscars and you can be sure I won't be watching Brokeback Humping Mountain either. BTW, I've never watched the oscars, emmy's or any other awards show.
This guy sounds like a clear case of brain-gone-to-crap.
A writer for a weekly no one will read, worrying that a movie no one bothered to see won't win an award on an awards show no one bothered to tune in to.

I've never seen a more apt description of Hollywood. In fact, it's so nice, I'm going to say it twice!

Does the author think a lot of us out here care. I for one have long given up on the movies and tv. It's amazing how one is ripped off with the non-talented stupidly written movies and programs that are played over and over and over and over again. The only ones that are gaining are the money grubbing even less talented crooks.
Just the other day I was saying "boy hidey," by far the most overused expression in my personal lexicon. Is there a day that goes by here on FR where we don't see "boy hideys" all over every thread?

The author probably left off a couple of important insults, but I'll take it. The "minority-lovin'" piece of it is just liberal racist crap, of course.
On the other hand, you’d think the religious right would be dropping to their knees and thanking the Lord, for instance, about the miracle of Munich and Spielberg squeezing out nominations.
Actually, personally, I don't much give a damn which crappy movies Hollywood chooses to congratulate itself over.
They didn't give Ang Lee an oscar for the picture he should have got one for, as it was clearly good vs evil. So they give him one for Crouching Cowboy Hidden Salami instead.
