Capote was such a caricature of himself that playing him would seem easy, but I didn't see the movie.
But the clips they showed were very capote.
Hey, that could be a new word for whoever was wanting a new word.

Renee and Terry and all of the beautiful models and actresses are beards. No relationship has lasted longer than a root canal.
He also made a comment the other day about playing Batman as "gay". I thought that was rather telling as well.
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")

Sheesh, even Gloria Swanson thanked all her fans "out there in the darkness" in "Sunset Boulevard."

The oscars are about self-promotion and the industry, which is a business, an international business. That said, Hoffman's sincerity, came through. And as you know, once you can fake that, you got it made.
I am so disappointed! I really wanted him to win in this category -- but they were determined to give a gay award one way or the other, weren't they????
He's certainly put a lot more effort into being a stud than Rock Hudson ever did.
I didn't watch and I told them why here:

Robert Towne
Monte Hellman
Joe Dante
Jonathan Demme
Peter Bogdanovich
John Sayles
And many, many more...
Glad you guys liked it. I was never a Capote fan and don't recall seeing Hoffman in anything, but his speech was pretty good.
Funny shot of the orchestra pit now. Wow, is Travolta more gay than ever, or what?
Actually, movie people work really hard and have to be a team and all that. It's too bad so much of the "talent" end up perverts and leftists. The support crew and techies are the ones that make it happen.
Exactly. I didn't see Capote either (I haven't seen many films lately, I wouldn't mind seeing it, I like evaluating acting) but it should be noted that on Family Guy, Brian the animated talking dog did a pretty good Capote, too.
Shame they lost so much money this year-Ha.
So far, so good.
I knew what you meant... ;-)
I said the same thing earlier...a thanks to our GI's would have been nice, since watching movies on their little dvd players is just about all they can do in their off time...
