HAS ANYBODY SAID IT YET? BOYCOTT THE OSCARS (Oscars Live Thread)

I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight.
I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest.
Pass it on...

I don't think that many men enjoy them. My husband falls asleep during anything even remotely resembling an awards show. I usually like to watch them but won't with the junk they have this year, overlooking the ones that actually were good...Walk The Line, Pride and Prejudice, Cinderella Man, North Country and a few others.

I currently have on LOTR: Return of the King. Tonight, I'll have something that isn't the (ahem)fest or read Ann Coulter. That'll be more entertaining.

A lib "friend" I've known for almost 20 years called me a homophobe last night because I said I wasn't interested in seeing Brokeback. Somehow telling her to go 'eff herself doesn't seem quite strong enough. At this point she's rubbed me the wrong way one too many times.

Going to check back later when they're on. I love these live threads. The one last year was really funny. I hope some Freeper is watching it and giving us a play-by-play.
Freepers are better wits than Jon Stewart ever dreamed of being.

I don't need a push to not watch the largest "Hate America" organization--Hollyweird--hand out awards to the top producing propagandists.
I am just glad there is a lot of moaning and groaning about the lack of ticket sales and declining movie attendance. I always get a good laugh when they try to explain reasons for this but NEVER mention Hollyweird is a total turn off to 50% of the American public who are not socialists or "hate America" zealots.

I don't boycott them, I just don't have any interest. I lost interest when Saving Private Ryan didn't win best picture. That alone told me it was a popularity contest, not a objective measure of the best move.
I have ZERO interest in a Hollywood popularity contest.

Is it feasible to boycott something you've never watched? Hmmm.

It's not called "Holly weird" for nothing. The movie industry has lost its ability to entertain.
These flaky actors who are giving themselves awards are easy to ignore. Movies are usually bad, carry a communist message, are too costly, too loud, and silly.
Tonight I plan something far more important than to watch a bunch of dorky airheads thrown air kisses at each other -- I plan to go to bed early.

I have a running bet with a somewhat cynical liberal friend over which genre is going to be afflicted by a "breakthrough" gay movie next. He thinks it's going to be military flicks. I'm thinking it has to be athletes...

Actually going to pull out an old Jeff Smith cookbook to see how to do salted eggs. In a odd way this will trump the Oscars. Ain't gonna watch the Oscars got too much odd reading to do.

My wife will be watching but only to see what the women are wearing. Sorry can't stop her. Nor should you ever attempt it......If you value your life.

The only part I sort of like to watch is where they go through all the people that have passed on, there's always someone you remember buy you really didn't know their name etc., it's interesting but the rest I don't know.
