Letter-writing campaign calls abstinence, "dangerous."
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is behind a "Not in My State" letter-writing campaign attacking abstinence-only education. The letters will ask school superintendents nationwide to use condom-based curricula instead.
A sample letter on the ACLU's Web site reads:
"Research shows that these curricula, which deny young people crucial information they need to prevent pregnancy and protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases, are ineffective and dangerous. To ensure the health of young people throughout Missouri, we ask your assistance in keeping these unsafe programs out of our schools."
Louise Melling, director of the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project, called abstinence programs "misleading."
"Today's action should be a wake-up call for many states," she said. "State officials need to ensure the health and safety of students by taking responsibility for the curricula taught in their classrooms."
But Linda Klepacki, sexual health analyst at Focus on the Family Action, said the real danger is what they propose to put in its place.
"They want comprehensive sex education, kindergarten and above," she said, "with a full push toward homosexuality, abortion and access to contraception."....

They seek nothing but the destruction of the USA.
Communists and atheists who swear allegiance to the ACLU will die before they allow Christians unobstructed success at anything.
Where is the letter-writing campaign which calls the ACLU "dangerous"?
"we ask your assistance in keeping these unsafe programs out of our schools."
The ACLU should be fighting for the right to present this program in our schools. The ACLU has no business deciding what programs are safe or unsafe in our schools.
You are absolutely right, the ACLU is very dangerous.
The ACLU supports everything evil. The only logical thing I can surmise is that they are following their lord and master, Satan.
Read the book "The ACLU vs. America" for the truth about the ACLU and help battling them.
It never ends. ACLU is evil ping.

Pcottraux says:
I don't like the ACLU.
If churches want to finance this farce out of pocket, they can knock themselves out, but it is no place for tax dollars.
What exactly does the ACLU stand to gain by having kids fornicating with abandon, other than a few new notches added to the belts of the abortion and queer agendas?
Yeah! I know lots of kids who are using abstinence and are still getting pregnant!
Oh wait....
The only thing the Marxists at the ACLU are interested in is detroying the family so they can destroy the country.
ACLU... Sometimes i wonder whether or not they realize what kind of world they're creating for their children - or better yet, if they care.
A world where their children can watch porn whenever they please, you don't need to be a christian to realize that hey.. i don't want my kid having free access to porn. A world where their grandchildren can be aborted simply because pregnancy is impractical, too painful, or too cumbersome a burden on their future.
Some people talk to hear themselves talk
The ACLU fights to see our America bleed.
Energy Alley, does that make your reasoning right? success rates do not determine moral values - right and wrong. I understand the fact that you would rather support something more effective, but contraceptives are nothing but an easy way out for those that have neither the time nor compassion to correct an ultimately destructive problem in todays society. I gladly will support abstinence Education, considering the worst that can happen is a few more kids like myself won't have a need to buy contraceptives because of religious beliefs. But we wouldn't want teens to realize that sex isn't for them would we? its too hard right? if you disagree with my first question just think of all potential problems with teenage sex/premarital sex, i'm not even speaking religiously. Thats probably a whole new topic in itself.
We're always looking for the easy way out as Americans.
