So, through ordinary market operations, the 'monopoly' AT&T had back in the '60's is being stitched back together.
Gosh, I bet Judge Sirica is tossing in his grave.
Ma Bell coming back
Yep. This will be the original Ma Bell minus Verizon territory, Bell Labs (Telcordia) and Western Electric (Lucent).
Don't you love capitalism at work?
Take the money away from a self made millionare.Within a few years they are a millionaire again.LOL!
Wierd. First they split up the phone companies, and now AT&T is stiching them back together. Bizarre.
Yep, that already have Southwestern Bell (SBC).
I HATE AT&T. I used to work in one of their call centers. A bigger buch of liars I have never met.
For me it was: Pacific Telephone & Telegraph then AT&T then Pacific Bell then SBC now the "new" AT&T. I retired with SBC in 2002. I'm looking for a Wally World merger. ; )
"We're putting the band back together."
It was not Sirica but Judge Harold Greene who ordered the breakup of AT&T. So now we're getting the old AT&T reassembled, but with Bell Labs turned into Lucent and trashed in the process. One of the major research labs on the planet, with more Nobel prizes than a lot of nations, wrecked. Greene couldn't have done more harm to the US if he had been a paid agent of the KGB.
"We're on a mission from God."
It is only a matter of time and they will come back into the fold.
"The Death Star will be completed on schedule, Lord Vader."
The valuation from just before the second breakup when Broadband and Wireless, and Business were spun off.
"Is this the party to whom I'm speaking?"
A year? I guess I'll hold off on buying shirts and buy the spiffy pants and such instead.
Remember the old saying, "We don't care, we don't have to. We're the Phone Company" ?
What the gummint put asunder, the market place re-sunders......LOL...if that's a word!
