Well, I DID say "few and far in between" didn't I? :-)

Look at it this way. If you're a "moderate muslim" and you speak out against the hijacking of your religion, what do you get? You get to be a target.

However, if you just mind you own business and shut up...Well, either the terrorists win ("Hey, you can't kill me, I'm muslim like you.") or the terrorists lose ("Hey, I'm not one of THOSE guys. I'm with the religion of peace.)

So, where's the incentive to speak up?

I'll just throw this out there.

There are a lot of Americans of all races, religions, and genders who have made themselves targets in the name of freedom and protecting America.

I dare say there are many examples on this web site.

My uncles were pure bred Germans one generation away from the homeland when they volunteered for service in WWII and were shipped off to the Philippines. That's what I call making yourself a TARGET.

Well, first of all, I agree with you and I don't mean to try to pick a fight, but just for the sake of discussion, isn't that what the Germans said about why they did not stand up to the Nazis? So if they don't stand up against it then doesn't that make them just as guilty?
